So they are good for small game obviously but what sort of air rifle do you need to take deer? Are there militant uses for compress air guns outside of hunting? Any brands one should look at if one were interested in buying one?

Grain weight?

I forgot to check. Sorry anon.

I need a .72 cal air rifle in my life. ~1,000 fps in a 1,000 grain slug

Or maybe a full auto .30 cal... said to have about 300 ft. lbs but that was only on 1,000psi. Modern engineering could easily take it to 4,500 like other high powered airguns (see above)

Full auto is legal for air guns, as are suppressors and short barrels, concealment, etc.

Or maybe a 40 cal multi shot pistol? Not bad for back when BP pistols were single shot. Not bad even for modern times in a state like CA

hell, even airforce has big bores now.

I've always thought it would be neat to merc somebody with a .25 or .30 caliber airgun.

Kinda wish this thing would have been made, their final bullpup version looks neat, wish I could get one and support such a neat idea. Beeman should just buy the idea from them.

>do not use compressed air to cool yourself or blow dust from the clothes or hair
Maybe it's just because I'm careful with it, but I've never had a problem doing this.

i have had a guy gut his cheek open with our shop air. 200psi aint nothing to fuck with

That gun is CO2 powered and isn't capable of 4500 PSI.
>>
>>29983057
First of all the original caselman could indeed run on 1,000 psi air, but that's the same pressure as room temp Co2 anyway. So pic related, if it runs co2, could run 1,000 psi air as well.

And I said MODERN ENGINEERING COULD TAKE IT TO 4,500 PSI as in, if it was built up, it could.
>>
>>29983057
His blog does not say Co2 anywhere, you just said that because you recognize the bottle
>>
>>29983057
>>29983416
Actually the original design was built to use 3k psi air

You can buy a crosman 2240 and a HPA kit, big bore breech and up to a .25 cal barrel but anything bigger you'd have to make fit to the breech yourself, not sure how easy that is but i'd like to try.

The breech kits come and go on the web, sometimes they're around other times they aren't it seems.

I used to have a really nice 5mm turkey air rifle. Could bearly pump it 5X. It easily went thru a galvanized garbage can both sides and the lid from about 25m
>>
>>29982618
I sold my Ruger 10/22 and bought a FX Impact .22.

sub-MOA up to 150 yards, enough for rabbits and even larger hares. Being so accurate compensates for the lesser power, you can always hit right dead on where you're aiming. Also silencer without paperwork shit.

Air rifles are evolving amazingly fast, back in the 80s you barely had .22 pushing 850fps, nowadays the Airforce Condor can put 1500fps with regular weight pellets, and there's already air rifles working semi-auto with the residual pressure of the barrel
>>
>>29983045
>200 psi
That might have something to do with it. Our shop's system is pretty weak and only has ~110 psi
>>
Look up the korean big-bores.
>>
What would an air rifle need to be capable of for it to be a good for SHTF?
>>
>>29985067
prepper here, minimum 100 grain and 1000+ fps; I think 1.2k is the highest you can get without a special permit though. Don't quote me on that.
>>
Are these regulated as firearms?
>>
>>29985557
nope

Just looked up south african airgun law

>any device firing a projectile larger than 5.56mm and/or exceeding 6 joules of muzzle velocity by means of compressed gas is defined as a firearm

Fuck you, fucking cunts, why do you get to control what weapons i can own.

This shit pisses me off.
