Hey /k/ I want to build a perimeter wall around my property, around 2-3 acres. Any suggestions on height and material used?

I was thinking of concrete with a brick frontage so it doesn't look like FT fucking Knox about 7-10 feet. Behind that I am thinking of putting a berm about half the height of the wall, 1, so that you can easily view over it and provides a good firing position, 2, it'll reinforce the wall, 3, it'll look pretty with flowers'n'shit on it.

Also general emplacement I'll post what I have.

Gonna take a lot of work, anon. You gonna do it yourself or have someone else do it? It'd look like shit, but a friend of mine fenced in a portion of his lawn with cinder blocks, concrete and rebar. Good luck, whatever you choose to do

Do it myself? Hell the fuck no. I'm gonna hire a professional to do it.

You can rent a small bobcat for a reasonable amount of money, it'll make building the berm much easier.

Dumb question

What is a 'Grenade Sump'?
>>
>>29981806
A small hole for grenades to fall into/get kicked into. Directs the blast up instead of filling your living space with fast moving pieces of hot metal.

Thanks.

It is a several foot deep, angled, hole in a fighting position. The idea is that IF a grenade falls into your fighting position you kick the grenade into the sump, it should then roll down into the earth and when it explodes the earth will absorb the blast and you stand a better chance of not being killed by it.

You can't just scramble out of the fighting position because then you'd be killed by rifle fire from the guy who threw the grenade.

Why doesn't the ammo bearer get to hang out with the cool kids? Is he getting bullied?

What you want is a curtain wall of earth and local stone faced with brick to reduce fragmentation injuries. Forward of this is an escarpment covered by caponiers to deal with escalade by infantry. Forward of the scarp is the glacius, an earthen slope which not only shields your curtain wall from direct-fire artillery but also forces attacking infantry to charge right at your guns before dropping into the scarp.

Of course to ensure there's no blind spots on your walls you'll want a series of bastions projecting from the salient angles and ravelins forward of the curtain walls. Perhaps consider a moat, some lunettes, hornworks and such as well.

I'll keep that in mind, do you have anything that won't make me look like I belong in a special pillow covered room

Skip the concrete/brick part. Do a 6 foot berm all the way around. Immediately in front, put a 6 foot deep moat, at least 15 feet wide. Plant blackberries or roses in the moat. Let them grow however they want, except onto the top of the berm. Net result: a 12 foot high obstacle filled with something very much like barbed wire. If you really want to be a dick about it, put a 3 strand barbed wire fence on the far edge of the moat, another at the military crest of the berm, and 2 rolls of concertina in the bottom of the moat. All anchored to 7 foot T-posts driven 4 feet in, spaced every 4 feet. Tops bevel cut. Then let the thorny shit grow up around all of that.

On top of the berm, have observation posts set up in sangars. Obscure the sangars with some other kinds of thorny shrubbery, preferably slow growing kinds.

Doing it this way gives you some fairly stout protection with a very low profile. If you start building obvious fortifications, people will get curious. That's not a good thing.

If you have trees inside the berm, you can put some discreet security cameras up to monitor the approaches. And you could put trail cams at the sangars for more coverage. Ispy software could be integrated with the cameras to give alerts or turn on lights or whatever. Sprinklers maybe.

The idea is to not show your power level unless you have to.

Why the fuck do you need a "good firing position"?

Planning for an FBI raid so you want the news footage of your burnt out property to look even more ridiculous afterward?
