I have a big stack of American Lock 5200 and 5300 padlocks in need of new cylinders by monday. I'm totally putting it off for video games and internet til tomorrow night though.

no shit the grip on the vz61 screws into the reciever, but how is the grip adapter attached to the screw, doe it have enough clearance to spin around without interference from the triggerguard or is there a seperate method by which it is screwed in

Not every lock can be disassembled non-destructively, Those that can there's usually a screw inside the shackle hole, unscrewing that allows the trap door to be removed, then the cylinder and actuator drop out.

Some are tricksier than that, like pic related where the trap door has to be punched out or laminated locks like Master Locks where you have to grind off the rivets. Those are so cheap that it's not worth the effort though.

Why would someone pay you to put new cylinders in a $5 lock?

Like I get it if you're trying to have 1 key work with them all, but I feel that isn't the case

It's cheaper to swap out new cylinders than it is replace the whole lock, especially when it's a largish commercial operation with dozens of locks. Which you should do whenever there's a unaccounted-for key and every year or three as a matter of course. Key control is an important and oft-overlooked part of physical security.

There's also locks like the Kwikset Smartkey system that can be fitted to a new key without the need of swapping cylinders or pins. But being Kwikset you can force the thing open with a screwdriver and vicegrips despite being ANSI grade 1 certified.
>>
>>29947374
>>29947476
Now you cut off the 80%, add an AK grip on it, or even worse a SVD style stock.

Speaking of 80% lowers. Anyone here recommend a good jig? Also are polymer lowers really as shitty as people say? I opened a thread about this earlier and most of the comments seemed to be either "lul they break" or seemed to come from polymer80.com or 80percentarms.com.

>>29949817
trigger group is aluminum and you need to put a blocking bar in since with the auto sear removed the trigger can be pulled back far enough that it'll never engage the hammer
>>
Just shitposting and triggering anons with some bait threads.
>>
>>29949888
But if I couldn't tig weld I could put a bolt through and cut off the head right?
Thanks again for all the info
>>
>>29949888
Actually I'm not quite sure I understand that, pull the trigger so far back it won't engage? I don't understand

Are you saying so far back the hammer wouldn't catch and the hammer would follow the bolt potentially going full auto?
>>
>>29949274
I'm so sorry, everything Prexis I've touched has been trash.

>>
>>29950100
yes the sear/trigger can tilt so far down without it that it could go full retard since the auto sear would normally tilt in from the front and catch it
>>29950144
not really any other options since all the remaining reciever section cuts are still in spain

Thanks, dick.

As of right now though, i'm carving a replacement for the Savinelli that snapped on me innawoods.
>>
>>29950274
from what i was told they're machined blocks that go in front and back of the trigger group to replace what was originally tubes for the pins, and have to mill down the tabs on the trigger group so you cant put an original full auto one in and some how not allow a unmodified bolt to go in. so i might have to modify the blocks depending on how they are designed because im not removing a whole bunch of meat off the bolt if i dont need to
>>
>>29950321
I see, so it's not important to the functionality but important for ATF compliance

And I agree, taking weight off a blowback rifle bolt sounds dangerous and bad idea

On the other hand I've got a Butz Choquin vest pocket travel pipe that is an indestructible beast. survived me slamming my face against a pickup truck dashboard in a car accident while I was smoking it.

Are savenellis worth the money or is it better to save up the shekels for the 2-300 dollarydoo level if you already have a rotation of good quality estate pipes and dr. grabows?

>>29947374
Just ordered a remington 1858 hand from dixie gunworks to fix my BP revolver. broke the tiny as fuck flatspring dry firing it while pew pewing imaginary indian months ago but could never get the lockwork apart until yesterday. I jury rigged a 1/2" automotive impact driver down to bit driver heads. Peitta makes their screws nonstandard flat heads that don't fit any normal flat ground screwdriver. Stripped the shit out of one they must of used a torque wrench to put in place because a 1/8" thread held that thing through 15 strikes from two different impact drivers before loosening.
>>
>>29950788
>Are Savenellis worth the money
I'll be honest, i never paid no mind to them before, My favorite pipes have always been my corncobs of all things, and if i wasn't in the mood for one of them, i always have one of them Baraccini's with the meercham liners in the bowl. That was really the max i'd pay for a pipe, figuring they couldn't really get better after 60 bucks. But then my dad got me a savinelli alligator for Christmas. At first i was afraid of using it, anywhere outside my living room, lest i end up breaking something in transit, But it proved to be one of the most robust pipes I've ever smoked, had the perfect bowl size for a 20 minute burn. Didn't even get all that hot.

It took a tumble down the stairs to break the thing.

if you want a fancy pipe i couldn't recommend more.

>my BP revolver. broke the tiny as fuck flatspring dry firing it

I've never had spring problems with my Pietta Navy, though for some reason i occasionally end up bending the bolt in it. not sure how that happens.
>>
>>29950948
fixed muh shitty Mr. Brog by cutting the broken part flush and jamming the filter in the new hole. I have some tax return floating around and I'm looking at some savanellis
