Why aren't they a bigger deal? Also post interesting suppressor technology. What's the best way to make a suppressor light/well balanced, effective, and short?
>>
>>29931256
They don't fit on 90% of firearms without extensive destructive modification?
>>
>>29931295
What?
>>
>>29931301
Most guns have a front sight at the end of the barrel you dingus. Having to thread a half inch of barrel isn't normally an issue but when you need to have four plus fucking inches of suppressor covering the barrel, things start getting in the way.
>>
>>29931312
op did NOT ask about over barrel suppressors
>>
>>29931321
Look at the OP picture you autist

Fucking what?
>>implying your suppressor doesn't extend many inches behind where your MD threading starts
Not on 99% of them, no?
>>
>>29931324
>>29931328

implying ops pic is relevant because>They don't fit on 90% of firearms without extensive destructive modification?
>>
>>29931312
its 2016, why don't you have free float handguards that extend over you suppressor.
>>
>>29931334
Referring to OP's picture, the suppressor is about 50/50 ahead and behind where the barrel's threads end. This is common shit, especially on SBR's.
>>
>>29931337
>implying ops pic is relevant because
Do you not know what a reflex suppressor is? It's the thing in OP's pic. A suppressor that goes back over the barrel. Now do me a favor and google "rifle" and tell me how many rifles you see that could fit the suppressor in OP's pic without having to grind off the front sight post at a minimum if not entire gas blocks.

>>29931345
Maybe for AR's. It doesn't work on pretty much any other stock rifle that isn't some fudd as fuck deer gun with no iron sights.

>>29931341
See above. That's only a thing on AR's.
>>
>>29931353
>implying AR's aren't the only tactical rifle that gives a fuck about overall length
>implying the new Dead Air can isn't the only suppressor that matters for anything that has commie-ass fuckin threads like an AK
>>
>>29931363
What the fuck are you even trying to argue, OP asked why reflex suppressors aren't popular. They're not popular because the only real gun they fit on is an AR pattern rifle or deer rifles. Pretty much anything else would require extensive modification.

>What is a Reflex Suppressor?

>The patented Reflex design of suppressor (or sound moderator) has the expansion chamber sleeved back over the front four to eight inches of the barrel. This reduces the overall length of the suppressed weapon, and improves its balance and handling qualities.
>>
>>29931374
Big part of why they're not popular on AK's is the rough threading of muzzle devices. The new dead air piece is designed specifically for that.
>>
>>29931425
Oh. I don't mean just AK's, this style of suppressor just doesn't fit on very many guns without grinding parts off like I mentioned earlier. There's a reason they're all front of muzzle save this company apparently.

Have one, pretty happy with it. The only things I don't like about the can are the properties of all cans; increased weight, length and gas blowback. Pic related.
>>
Wait is this a thing?

I thought a while ago that you could supressors more compact by wrapping them around the barrel and redirecting gasses.

Feels bad that i wasnt the first to have the idea

I thought RK's were banned for sale?

What's your opinion on the gun?

Why would they be banned for sale? Some collectors have actual full auto raifus.

And I love her, accurate and reliable. Not to mention good looking. The only issue I have is the lack of aftermarket and spare parts, but that only means I'll have to spend extra to have a gunsmith make parts in case something breaks.

There are a lot of people out there with them.

I know that this isn't really the topic that OP intended, but with the legislation going through regarding trusts, will it still be possible to get a suppressor? Why are people rushing out to go but NFA shit right now (aside from the election)?
>>
>>29937872
It's just that the trust now has some identification hurdles to jump through like fingerprinting and shit. Used to be you just sent in a trust and done. It's not a big deal. It's total bullshit but nothing is going away. Just the govt being shitty as usual.
>>

Ok, thank you. So basically, it's like filling out a more detailed 4473?
