Hi /k/. Russian here. There's a big shitstorm going between putin's anti-gun propagandists and normal people on sosach's /b/. So i decided to make mah freedom map, just wanna known in what countires/us states i can carry a pistol every day (cause its forbidden here). Also ask about russian gun laws if u r interested ill try to ask.
>>
Pretty much every state in the US lets you open carry firearms, and most will let you concealed-carry pistols. It's only a few states (California, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut) that have gun grabby laws.
>>
Isn't Putin pro gun?

Seems like he would be, it's not like faggot leftists like pussy riot would ever touch a gun
>>
>>29910212
How strict are the gun laws in Russia? Is it easy to get a carry license there? Do they crack down on rifles and other long arms?

hahaha no they have strict anti gunot laws.

but I assumed that the police only cared if you were a gangster or chichen? I always assumed that the chaos of the early 90s meant that a bunch of full giggle AKs got into the market of anyone who looked hard enough. Or have those all been rounded up?

Shotguns are only limited to 10 rounds capacity and overall lenght, can have 5 of them without collector's licence. Same stands for rifles.
Not OP.
>>
>>29910254
Are laws different depending on where you live? I assume gun ownership is routinely allowed in Siberia and other areas out east where wildlife might eat you. Is there a concept of a "truck gun" I mean is there any guns in non military calibers? I mean x54R is a great round and all but I'd want something with a much heavier bullet ifor I was worried about polar bears.
>>
To get first gun(Smoothbore is only tupe u can own in first 5 years after u get license) here u need:
1. U need to pass drag and pscyho tests(and pay for them as well).
2. To buy a safe/strongbox(cheap 20$ metal box is fine).
3. To learn safe handling of weapons(and pay for it). It takes 1 day and small easy exam plus couple of shots on the range.
4. Get so called "hunt ticker". Taakes them 2 weeks to make it and give it to u.
5. Collect all dem papers from above and give em to gubernment.
6. After one month they give green paper
which gives you the right to acquire a smooth-bore long-barreled weapons(only in next 6 months lel).
3.
>>
>>29910270
Lots of guns in non-military caliber, actually milsurp and mil-std ammo is no-no and its a criminal offence to posess it, leave alone shoot it (although noone cares most of the time). Gun law is federal, no matter where you live.

Also any licence is valid for 5 years and to renew you've got to do drug/psycho screening and police record check. For rifle owners - provide 3 samples of bullet/case for forensic database for each rifle.
>>
>>29910222
Yes, they do crack down on rifles, u actually need to own a shotgun for 5 years at least to buy one.
>>29910233 it was better before soviets, u actually could own pistols n shit, and it was better in soviet time when u could buy sport rifles withou license.

Czech Republic let's you conceal carry anything that is registered for carry if you have group E of firearm license. Some people even carry Vz 58s here.

how the fuck do you conceal carry that thing, fedora and duster?

You think it's hard? The collapsable stock V version is 636 long with the stock down, you can strike down another 90mm by shortening the barrel to 300mm. Here's a pic of a somewhat shorter guy.

All you usually need to conceal a full size Vz 58 V is a standard overcoat.
>>
>>29910445
Why would anyone conceal a vz?
>>
In Oklahoma you can openly carry a pistol without a permit or anything. There's a few other states like that, too. Oklahoma is pretty a-okay though. Come visit, slav brother.
>>
>>29910459
I lied a little bit, it's not in effect yet but it will be soon.
>>
>>29910415
That's near impossible unless you are an estabilished collector. Technically, if you have a collection of WW2 rifles and pistols, the MAY let you own a couple of submachineguns in their original, fullauto configuration if you apply for a category A weapon exception, provided you let them check your safe and other kinks you need for a category A weapon, like reinforced doors. Even so I heard nearly a thousand people here own a fullauto Vz 58 privately, but it's completely up to the police station you ask to provide you with the permit to own a category "A" weapon (the exception).

For me, it's not worth the hassle if I can carry an SBR. Especially since most firing ranges wont let you fire fullauto, and because our country is small we cannot shoot outside firing ranges unless we are hunting.

So yeah, it can be done, but it's really rare and really difficult.

Other than that, laws are good. There is a background check, you need a doctor's approval. Optional psychology test if the doctor requires it, but that's unusual. You need to do some exams in firearm safety, first aid and such, but after that you can own pretty much every small arm that exists in semi without any mandatory safe checks or other bullshit, from a pocket pistol to a heavy machinegun. No limit on the count either. You can carry with a category E permit, and despite needing the firearm registered, there is no limit on what type of firearm you can carry as long as you can conceal it.

Everything self-defence related in Russia is mostly about not getting caught, we have about 99% conviction rate among people who are brought to court. Any weapon carried is sought as intention to do harm, that's how our police works.
>>
>>29910750
Yeah, you basically cannot get them anymore here. We donated some to the Kurds and it seems we have basically run out of both the used and unused ones. CZ ramped up the cost for their 858s but hasnt delivered them since march which was the promised date.

>>29910826
trigger ruins it a bit for me, you can't really do much to it and keep the reliability
thou removing second spring for full auto from trigger made it a lot better for me recently, need to try it out on the range. reset is still abysmal, and you can't do anything about it
also, how's ammo situation for 7.62x39? It's preety fucking dry up here, chink military ammo is overpriced if you can even get it, and new production is to expensive to even bother.

wew, mine had basicly auto sear grounded off, end of conversion.
I compared it back to back with 858, and it was much nicer and smoother overall, but you sometimes hear about gremlins in 858s, mine feeds everything.

>>29910915
Hmm.
That sounds like a slovakian conversion.
Wouldn't be very legal to convert it that way here in czech rep. Was it a Gazela 58?

as i understand it these shotguns wont fire when folded. Does the stock have to be all the way open to fire or will it fire with the stock half folded facing down? With a couple more inches of barrel these could be legal here in australia.

Damn near everywhere except California and the New England states (Massachusetts, New York, Maine, etc.) allow you to easily get a CC permit.
Some are now constitutional CC so you don't even need that.
A few have laws that make gun free zones a bit more heavy in terms of court.

Other than that though, you're good.

In general, how is the actual gun culture there? How hard is it to find someone with a gun legally?
>>
>>29911308
I wouldn't sbs it to begin with. Maybe down the road.
A standard 18.5 inch barrel with that folding stock would make a great backpack gun. Too bad they're such low capacity. The 12 gauge only has a 2 round mag,and the 16 gauge has a 4 round tube.
>>
>>29910219
Even CT is open carry. The permit is just for carry-you can CC or open.
>>
>>29911975
I've heard of veper 12 mods being done on them but you might want to make a thread on it. There's a couple of gunsmiths that lurk and bouncing ideas off them might be a good idea.
>>
>>29912010
I was told that I could modify Saiga mags to fit the 12,so I bought a 5 round mag.
It will take some serious filing of the plastic magazine, then some careful riveting of a metal guide,to end up with a thin walled magazine of pretty dubious quality. I've asked among my friends to see if anyone knows someone working with sheet metal that could make me about a dozen 5-shot mags, but no luck yet.
>>
>>29911907
most of gun owners are hunters. i knew only one person who was gun owner in real life(23 years old).
>>
>>29910219

Don't forget NJ. You can OC or CC, but the permit is "may (not) issue".
>>
>>29913673
It's the same with a lot of counties in California. My old man applied for a CCL in Orange County and got it in about a month. LA county doesn't issue one unless you've got a professional reason (cop/military/etc)
