The local sporting goods store. They've had bricks in constant stock from half a dozen brands for the past year and a half.

The Cock's by me has it for 10 cents a round, but limit is 100 rds per customer. It's on my way home from work so I usually stop by 2-3 times a week to stock up.

lgs has boxes of 50 for like $2.50
Local lgs has them for 3-5 cents a round. Local Gander, dicks, and big box stores usually go for 5-7 cents a round.

I get federal 50 round boxes at Cabela's for three dollars each. They have an ample variety of .22 there but I just get what's cheapest. God bless Ohio.

Rember the .22 can be a blessing in disguise, it's abiblty to bounce around inside its victims head allows it to do more damage per bullet dispite it's light weight .
The last ones I bought were at bass pro about half a year ago. Shitty thunderbolts for 6 cpr and CCI mini mags for 8 cpr.
I bought mini mags for 7 cpr (which is actually non bulk price pre scare) at an LGS a few months before that.
It's cheaper to buy them by the gallon. I bought 10 gal bucket worth of .22 and I think individually, they cost about a penny each (maybe even less)
I'm out here in Phoenix, AZ. My local WalMart never has them, neither does Cabela's or a few other gunshops I've been to. There's this one that consistently does, but it's some mexican matchgrade stuff for like 10c+ a round.
My aunt is the sporting goods department manager at the Canton, Ga Wal-Mart. For over a year now, she has been holding every box of .22 that comes into the store for me. I go in to buy it, she goes on break and buys it for me with her discount. It works out great.
I checked inventory this week and I have over 125k rounds of various brands.

I dont buy .22 becuase I can afford to shoot .223 and .308 in .22 quantities. I dont even have a .22 so keep panic buying .22 and ill be at the range plinking away with my AR

At these prices, 22 isn't nearly worth it's price. Either get one of the nice pellet rifles available to you in 177 or 22, or jump right up to a real 20c/r caliber that actually gives you it's money in fun.
There's no shortage of it in NY but it's on the more expensive side, I pay about 8-10c a round
