Shall we entertain the age old debate /k/?
Is the reliability argument for revolvers actually valid?
I've heard revolvers may be better for home defense because they can be left fully loaded indefinitely without wearing out any springs or similar mechanisms.

unless you leave your magazine loaded for 30 years there wont be a problem with it, so if you want to make that trade for a big dumb heavy trigger pull and extra tinnitus thats fine.

What a shit thread
Revolvers are not mechanically more reliable than semi autos of a similar quality.
However most semi auto malfunctions are a result of crap ammo, crap magazines, or user error i.e. limp wristing.
None of those will cause a revolver to jam.
Depends, unlike most of /k/ I'm not a delusional prepper fag, and I've accepted that my arms will only ever be used on the range.
Revolvers for superior marksmanship

>You have fucked up now.
If you know your history Anon, you'd know that you can and should magdump ANYTHING. The argument against larger trigger pull and more EEEEEEeeeeee is invalid.

The reliability difference is negligible on an individual basis. over thousands of shots, sure one will be more statistically reliable than the other. One has more points of failure.
However; saying there is a functionally significant advantage of a revolver over a semi-automatic in a modern average self/home defense context is a gross exaggeration.
It's like saying Knives are more reliable than guns (it's true)
and by extension large rocks are more reliable than knives (your knife can go dull, it can break, you can still smack someone with a rock even if it gets chipped)
and you don't see many people advocating knife or rock carry over guns
Bigger bullet, classic image, can drop fucking bears.
Can't beat the classic badassitude of a good ole revolver.
