>faulty system
>tornado watch/warning (even if it's calm)
>active shooter somewhere public
They test them at 9am the first Tuesday of every month here, as well as every time a kid or retard goes missing, somebody either important or famous dies, every time we have a thunder storm, every time there's a fatal vehicle collision within the county, when the local high school team scores a [point, goal, etc] at home games, and for a few other reasons. Which is dumb, because now everyone fucking ignores it.

I think OP was more freaked out that his 911 dispatch wasn't answering calls and he couldn't get through to local police, county sheriffs or his local state police lodge.
He had all his ducks lined up and was ready to grab his family and run in a loaded out vehicle or shelter in place but couldn't find out what to do. I can understand his anxiety in that instance.
I noticed there were a few Illinois bros ITT yet none of them tried contacting any of those emergency services to find anything out for him. That was some piss poor response in my opinion and /k/ failed again
