It seems that Russians are building a base in Tadmur, according to the Finnish broadcasting company YLE.

"On a road leading to the city a Russian military convoy is carrying air-conditioned living containers. In one convoy alone there is about ten big containers."

Also, Russians seem to be using BTR-82A's in Syria.

It all means that the russians won, Assad won, his enemies and those who wanted him dead lost.
The consequences will be severe after this and europe is in deep deep shit.
Russians will exploit their victory to the fullest and if oil or gas price somehow starts to rise, far worse things will happen.
The saddest part of it all is that how nobody gives a shit now, nobody can see it.
Instead of calling putlets bluff back when there wasnt any ISIS, Assad would be dead and russians would be obedient and contained.
Now Iran is free to trade, russians can do what ever the fuck they want with Syria because they have a foothold there and europe is turning islamic because its tolerant and diverse.
USA will have the clinton demon as a president.
Not to mention the amount of weapons, armor and jets that russians will sell after using Syria as a showroom for the toys they sell.

It also means that Russia now has a sphere of influence in the middle east.

Its mean nothing. U.S also have small bases in Syria, and more important, U.S can use Iraqi or Turkish territory to operate in Syria.

>>
>>29845920
Believe it or not but the equivalent of the BTR anywhere else in the world is a truck, until relatively recently that is with the arrival of MRAPs. Its often claimed to be the analogue to the M113, when in fact the more apt comparison is to the MTLB, being a tracked lightly armored vehicle used also for towing equipment. With the BTR the Soviets managed to fully motorize their infantry, and as experience in WW2 shows, the light armor resistant to arty splinters enhanced their survivability many times over unarmored trucks used to carry troops. It didn't cost them that much more than trucks too, and it is about as simple as a truck to operate and maintain- so much so that its pretty much the most common AFV around and would be around for many more years. yeah you cannot really scoff so loudly at the marvel that is the BTR.

The Europeans have something Putin wants: investment, technology, trade, safe banks for his cronies. Offering these nice things to Russia would defuse the security threat. For his part, Putin doesn’t really want military conquests on NATO territory; havens for Russian money are more important. This would perhaps be a better basis for lasting peace than the U.S. military deterrent, and it would be a dream situation for Putin. In a stroke, he would regain all he lost by attacking Ukraine.

Europe has no qualms about doing a deal with Turkey’s authoritarian ruler, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, when his help is needed to resolve the refugee crisis. Having fallen out with the U.S., it will just as easily do a deal with Putin. It hasn’t done so yet in part because of U.S. pressure.

Completely false, all the baltics are doing much better than they ever did during russian oppression, only the poorest of the poor cannot afford food and unlike the soviet days there is actually food to buy. They can also buy a car and roll it home the same day instead of waiting years, they can travel freely, express dissent, get actual wages and see economic growth, vote and meet friends from the west instead of oppressors from the east. Estonia in particular is doing great and has attracted large amount of capital from all over Scandinavia.
But what is all that compared to having a russian spit at you and imprisoning you for not liking it?
