It's got quite a bit of light pitting, bunch of sand dust inside. Needs a good cleaning. Bore looks better than a lot that they have listed recently.
I was watching one a couple weeks ago that was $350, didn't have a bid until the last day and it went for $450. The bore on that one was worse than this.

Mine came with the bayonet. I personally don't think the guy knew what he was selling me for such a cheap price, the bore is immaculate, just everything. The bayonet makes it look 100% better IMO. On mine a piece of shapnel took a chunk out of the blade. I got the deal of a lifetime on a battle used Axis rifle

You should be fine.. the Type 30 bayonet fits both the Type 38 and Type 99 rifles. I think they look awesome. Try to find one with a hook on it

Pre-war to 1942 as far as I know. As you probably know, the Japanese war machine started to fall apart in Late '42 with the rest of the Axis and they had to resort to less than crude productions of what were once very fine weapons.

I think you got a decent price on it, if you want some advice, take a wad of 00 steel wool and polish off all the surface rust on the rifle and bayonet. Mine was in beautiful shape but it still had surface rust. 00 steel wool works magic on guns. NOTHING COARSER THOUGH

Magazines are quite scarce, and like the P88 it's half based on, the grip is extremely fat at the web of the hand to accommodate the wrap-around decocking lever. Perhaps uncomfortably fat. I'd say this wood gripped version is actually fatter than the P88, which is already very big.
Other than that, no complaints. I have not shot it so I can't comment on reliability. This may be my first safe queen.
The trigger is bretty gud (7/10) in both SA and DA modes, the ambi mag release is well placed, finish is excellent and the slide glides very smoothly on the frame.
I bought it as a curiosity and as an extension of my Walther collection. It fits both categories well.

Got the HK P30SK last night. Grip looked too short in pictures, and sadly, turns out that it is. Doesn't fit me well but the rest of the gun is nice and the painted lettering on the slide is sexy as fuck.

Stripped the frame and cleaned it today, trigger was gritty as fuck and the hammer was making a squeaking/grinding noise. Trigger is now smooth and the hammer sounds as it should.
