Normally people will become the "go-to" guy for stuff like the saw or m203 because they are good with them or he's got the muscle for it.

Most A2 hiders aren't mounted concentric to the bore so you're much more likely to have a baffle strike vs. having an actual mount.

Actually, the difficulty of getting a can in the US has forced companies to advance the technology and attempt to create the best possible product they can. People aren't gonna buy a $100 can and just buy another when they get a baffle strike, so there won't be many people buying multiple of the same can in an already small market. US made cans are generally much better built, much stronger, and much more effective than those made in countries where they are unregulated (although most of those countries heavily restrict gun ownership in the first place).

I can only speak for a standard Marine Infantry Battalion.
In the Marines, in a fire team (4 people), the automatic rifleman gets the m249 or IAR. The fire team leader gets a 203 under his m4. The assistant automatic rifleman and rifleman just have an m4. All Marines have a RCO (ACOG) for their weapon, along with a peq 14 or peq 16.
For guns like the 240 you will typically see them carried by machinegunners (0331) and mortars carried by mortarmen (0341). Within a standard battaluon, some machinegunners and mortarmen are with the (usually) 3 line companies, but there is also a weapons company that is made up of nothing but gunners, mortarmen (with 81mm mortars), and antitank missilemen (0352), who use weapons like the SMAW, Javelin, and TOW.
There's a certain number of night and thermal sights for rifles and machine guns for each company that are given out situationally.
There's also a scout sniper platoon who have access to weapons like a .50 sniper rifle, 7.62mm DMR, and M40.
