But should I get a nice American Kalash or get a more expensive Century Arm's AK?
>>
>>29819517
Get a WASR
>>
>>29819531
Can I get a pic and I have never heard of that Manufacturer?
>>
>>29819567
nigga what kinda rock you been living under
They are romanian made akm copies that are sporterized by atlantic firearms. Some people have complaints but overall pretty good starting ak.
>>
Also was gonna trade my GSG AK22 in for a kel-tec sub 2000, good decision or what?
>>
>>29819668
Only "wasr" my local gun store cares, might check tomorrow if my others care em too. Says it's by century arms though...
>>
>>29819782
I wasnt trying to be specific on the importer they should all be of the same quality more or less
>>
>>29819820
So Century Arm's is just the company that imports the gun, made from polish part kits?
>>
Ok so I'm torn between the, Century Arms GP WASR AK-47 SA 7.62X39 16.25" MB 30+1 Hardwood Stk Blk for $681 and the, Century Arms International RAS47 Semi Auto Rifle 7.62x39mm 16.5" Barrel 30 Rounds Magpil MOE Furniture Black Finish RI2362-N for $700. Which is better?
>>
>>29819849
*facepalm*
WASR is an AK from romania
They come in "featureless" imported by century, which makes them 922R compliant so you can have 30 round mag, and scary muzzle brake.

The front sight will most likely be canted, but it will hold a zero. The mag might be wobbly, but it will hold, the bolt guide rails might have burrs, but they will wear down, they are damn near indestructible, for all of their flaws they are the most solid affordable AKs out there.
You used to be able to convert saigas on your own, but THANKS OBAMA.
>>
>>29819849
I believe the reciever is not made in the US. The rifles were made to accept single stack magazines so the importer would have to enlarge the rifle's magwell. By enlarge I mean they literally just cut the well larger. This creates more problems if it was done shitty

>>
Can someone give a bit of guidance? I have been planning and saving for a WASR, and was wondering the best method of purchasing it.
i.e. online social, gun store, online gun store etc
>>
>>29820010
Thats pretty damn aesthetic desu, i like a darker furniture desu but you realy can't beat a WASR for a starting ak
>>
>>29820049
Nigga are you for real?
Go to your local store and compare prices we cant do it for you.
>>
So to get everything clear, fuck a US Kalash and get the WASR?
>>
>>29820089
Jeesh man, sorry I guess there was some pricing consistency, obv. I was wrong
>>
>>29820126
Is this gonna be your first gun? Going to the store should be better because you can inspect for mag wobble and canted sights. That is, unless the prices are way better online.

You know, mag wobble is more a function of shitty mags than the gun. Take a good ak mag and put it in a wasr and the mag wobble almost goes away. Take the garbage metal mag that comes with the WASR put it in any other AK and it rattles like crazy. No need for any janky wobble "fixes" The wobble has nothing to do with "dimples" It's all based in the mag lips.
>>
>>29820391
I dunno mang but I do know that instead of dimples the wasr has two metal bumps welded inside. These are of questionable quality nigga

As an owner of 2 Yugo AKs, I would never recommend one to somebody so new to AKs.
The snowflake parts are too much for most simpletons to comprehend.

Well since I'm gonna get the WASR can someone recommend a synthetic furtiture kit ?

What the dimples are for is to add strength to the receiver because of the large hole cut out of it for the magazine well. The reason WASRs don't have them is because in the configuration that the WASRs are built which is for a single stack 10 Rd magazine hence the name WASR 10 The hole cut for the mag well is smaller it doesn't need the dimples to strengthen the reciever. When the WASR gets stateside they make the receiver hole bigger for a double stack magazine and weld the two tabs to add back the strength. The dimples have zero to do with mag wobble. To test this find the tightest ak you can at a gun store, put a mag in try to wobble it, you will see that the mag does not come close to contacting the dimples. Then take that same mag and put it in a WASR you will have very little if any wobble.

The "tabs" are steel plates, snd they are factory spot welded.
The Yugo guns come into the country as 10 round sporters as well, do you think century adds the dimples here too?
You are right about neither having to do with mag wobble, that more of a tolerance stacking thing.
Some mags will wobble some won't.
>It seems they use Tapco mags to size the magwell hole, and they're a little thicker than your run of the mill steelie.
It's irrelevant unless it's front to back wobble which will cause misfeeds.
That's usually caused by an improper length magazine release lever, which are also modified when they open up the magwell.

Hasn't really been an issue since Century has switched to actually machining the magwells, as opposed to dremeling them open by hand.
>>
The issues with a yugo gun are not just the steel construction
>Not chrome lined
>Not bayonet useable out-the-box if its an NPAP
>cheekslap if you have a early NPAP
>New production parts with new production problems, canted pin holes for example
>>
century arms still using blind monkeys to cut their magazine conversions?
