I also use ballistol. I've tried a lot of different products and in my opinion it works best. I think smells kinda like black licorice.
Hoppes 9 is still king when it comes to smell though.

It's still whipped up in the best blend that's easy to use from a spray can and doesn't just run off immediately like regular mineral oil.
Honestly, unlike Frog lube, fire clean and slip 2000, M-Pro having "secret" recipe; Ballistol has always been upfront about what it is and what it's not.
I suppose if you hate Ballistol a next best thing would be Kroil, but then you might say that's no better than mineral oil as well.

Ballistol is great I use it everytime I clean guns
I use ballistol on everything
