It was honestly a huge mix. Most of it is Ranger batt enlisted and infantry 2LTs, with a mix of other combat arms 2LTs and then the major army posts (bragg, drum, campbell) had a group from each as well. And then maybe 10 guys from other branches (AF/Marines)

So honestly the starvation wasnt as bad as i thought-- for me though! I struggled with the sleep deprivation, some guys were better at sleep and were like starving all day.
We'd get in from a patrol around 1-3am, eat your MRE after you do like 1 hour of priorities of work (security, digging a shit hole, sector sketches, etc). Then you sleep maybe 30-60 mins, wake up, maybe cram the other MRE in you and then you won't eat until like 3-4am the next day

Almost none. It was fucking terrible, i was not good with the sleep part. At one point we got 3 hours of sleep in a 7 day period. We'd fall asleep rucking in the middle of the night, I'd fall asleep walking and would semi hallucinate a lot around 2am. Freaking scary at times when you are fighting to stay awake while looking through the shitty NVGs they use

He was a BAMF that could run 15:30 3 mile and just a spergtastic lovable bastard, he was my squad leader and hazed my ass, still love him. He won a competition and BN CO said he'd do him a favor. He asked to go to Ranger school, BN CO actually hooked him up.
We asked him what was it like? Super hard brah? He said it wasn't completely weak by any means, but nothing 0311's in a good unit don't do on a average basis.
Plus since he dropped from the sky he rated jump wings on his cammies, only guy in the battalion.

Definitely do OCS. From the time I contracted as a freshman to now (a week from commissioning), rotc and cadet command have gone so far down hill it's not even funny. Seriously. As soon as BG Combs took the helm at cadet command she has done everything in her power to remove all sorts of field training in favor of ethics, sharp, eo, and sensitivity classes as a part of her mission to prepare officers to transition "from a wartime military to a peace time garrison army".
I know everyone's opinions of 2LT's is already low, but after fiscal year 16 and 17, prepare for a SEVERE drop in quality of officers coming from rotc as a commissioning source.
She will have single-handedly created a generation of incompetent officers and the army is going to suffer because of it.

I have a couple of friends that got recycled multiple times and even failed out of Ranger school. However their unit just kept sending them back because they wouldn't accept an LT without a ranger tab. One guy I can think of in particular took so many tries to pass he had over a year time in service as a 1 Lt by the time he left Benning to go to his unit.
He then went to best ranger the year after and got his ass kicked by the national guard team.
I'm a loser cunt who is getting back into shape because I'm 23 have a shit load of money but am disgusted with life and want to kill people and be excited.

No you're right though. My class was the first class to go through CLC rather than LDAC and it was a complete load of bullshit man. There were Platoon lanes and patrol bases and all that, but literally no evaluations. I'm not even kidding, they didn't grade us or rate us on anything. The logic I had heard on that was that LDAC was too stressful and that it would be better to assess cadets solely off of their records back at their schools rather than at camp, and just use CST as a "teaching opportunity". It's a complete load of bullshit.
