I got to fingerfuck a CZ 805 Bren today and I think I'm in love. The thing has awesome sights and feels incredibly solid. Yeah it's $1700+ $200 for a tax stamp and $200 for the 922r kit, but I really don't care. Anyone here have any experience with one?

The original 805 took proprietary mags (G36 mag knockoffs, to the point G36 mags actually worked better in the gun than the CZUB ones), and had a paddle release.
After the army bitched and moaned, they got STANAG lowers with button release that were then fitted to the old rifles, and new batches arrived with STANAG lowers already on them.

The hold open on the 805 is a hard to actuate tiny ass lever so I doubt it would see much use in clearing malfunctions unfortunately.
That being said if anyone in this thread is actually looking to pick up a nice 5.56 rifle that isn't an AR or a Tavor without breaking bank this is probably one of the best overlooked options on market.

Have you used one of these? I feel as if CZ USA is going to pull an IWI and put out this version first, as IWI did with the Tavor. It's close enough to what people want to get them to buy it, but not exactly what they want. After this sells, they'll import the 806, which is exactly what people want, and they want it enough to buy a rifle CZ should have imported in the first place.

I don't think the 806 is even past prototype at this point. They'll keep milking the 805 for the foreseeable future.
After all, they managed to take the terrible clusterfuck that was the original 805 and turn it into a so-so piston rifle over the course of 5+ years, and the taxpayers paid them for all of it several times over, why wouldn't they milk it when the manufacturing is all set up?
I'd still take a Bren 805 carbine. It's on my goal list to pick one up at the end of the year. One way or another.
