I went to a private liberal arts school. School didn't even have a massive endowment and a forth of the students paid nothing based solely on what the school gave them. The only people who didn't get some kind of scholarship were lazy legacy kids with 1.8 high school GPAs.

Once we advance psychology and neuroscience by about 50 years, I think the situation is going to improve greatly. Both of those fields are basically in their infancy.
