Literally just finished The Forgotten Soldier, and damn it was heartbreaking. I'll second Blood Red Snow and also suggest Sniper On The Eastern Front.

Other good ones include An Ordinary Soldier by Doug Beatty, Callsign Hades by Patrick Bury and The Flashman Papers.

Will post my (small but growing) collection when I get home.

Inside delta force - really good, almost read the whole thing in one sitting
The white donkey- almost don't want to recommend because it gets really sad, ruined my whole day.

The best recommendations I've ever had from /k/ were Red Storm Rising and Storm of Steel

Personally Low Level Hell is a fantastic book too, it's by recce pilots in Vietnam, you would not believe the amount of times they get shot down.
