Not always, but if they do, in what direction? Even supersonic, they are unable to instantly pinpoint the direction. Sometimes they will look around. Many times they will bolt, but not always directly away from you like when being obnoxious (unsuppressed).

26'' barrels are less accurate past 500 when shooting 7.62x51; 20+ inch barrels in 5.56 platforms cause velocity drop offs. to name a few.
Harmonics get a little weird sometimes with different calibers. I really don't care to go into detail with you about this but if we treat your statement like a hypothesis, the positive being a longer barrel inherently means better accuracy/precision, the negative being it does not and the null being neither, we have to accept the null; in some cases, in some calibers it does not. My supposition based upon my experience is that a suppressor can squeeze out a bit more velocity in certain calibers that I use better than an extra 6-12 inches of barrel.

I love my suppressors. I could never live without them. They make pretty much any firearm you put them on more pleasant to shoot. Being able to shoot many guns without earpro and no EEEEEEE is awesome. They are also handy for new shooters, less boom.
