Whats /g/? Depends what your doing, whats gonna be best over a kilometer isnt going to be optimal for under 300 yards, and if your asking you probably don't have the skills to go much further. A quality AR15 or AK varient would be your best bet from reputable manufactures. For AK's that would be arsenal, saiga, and vepr in the US if you don't know how to inspect some other brands/ manufactures with shittier qc. For AR's, colt, BCM, and others that AR fags can tell you about are good. Maybe though you just want a handgun like pic related. I like revolvers but these days Id argue a semiauto in 9mm is the way to go for beginers. Glock, CZ, FN, Styer, and Walther all make quality handguns in th $500 dollar range and are excellent
