Ok so I've been slowly putting together my B.O.B it still has a fair way to go and will probably cost a fair bit. I also want to get a rifle. I was wondering what do you think should take priority the B.O.B or the weapon.
My head I'm leaning B.O.B because you need the ability to survive. But the weapon would offer me defence.
What comes first /k/?

get a fucking .22 rifle. it's cheap and you can carry 1200 rounds of ammo for 10 pounds. .22 out of a rifle will flatline a nigger with a quickness out at 150 yards, and it's easy to shoot. you're mostly going to be shooting varmints for food, and anything too much bigger will ruin the meat.
With things being the way they are, I would go for the rifle before shot gets out of hand. If you avoid overpriced gimmicky bullshit then putting together a B.O.B is pretty easy and consists of shit that's not subject to being banned, restricted or scared into wildy inflated prices.
Nothing in my B.O.B was purchased specifically for the kit, it's mostly shit I already had. I can't really slap together good rifle and a couple hundred rounds of ammo.

Realistically this guy has the best idea if you just want SHTF BOB. More powerful weapons are good if you think you'll be under fire from other people.

Have you got part 1?

I have tons of old /k/ guides. I'll post this series.

These take me back.
I made these guides years ago, I'm surprised they're still being posted. Not sure I'd still agree with everything in them now, but don't know if that's experience or preference talking.
I'm just about to leave for a four week trip innawoods, if anyone has any questions I'll be around for a bit.
Does Gerber make good knives? I like the look of the bear grylls one but I have a feeling it'll just be some shitty branded one.

Not really. Some of their multitools are okay, but i've never seen a gerber blade I would pay for.

Would you ever consider making updated versions?
Also, 4 weeks sounds great, headed in just for fun or what?
>>29727952
If I was going to make an updated version I'd definitely spend more time on it. Maybe I'll give it a shot after this trip, but then again, the old ones are already posted pretty consistently anyway.
It's a prospecting trip - I'm looking for a good place to stake a gold claim. Work dried up for me so I have plenty of time, might as well make money off of it.
Guns are definitely more fun than a backpack

I'll also share some knife pics to help you decide

This is a little old but the knives are all good.
