9mm, because it isn't a fucking high pressure meme.

10mm, because it has a reason to exist.

Tie between .357 Sig and 10mm, but probably gonna have to go with 10

10mm.

Two reasons:

I'm 6'3", played football, etc....it's not unmanageable, and it's a caliber that doesn't mess around.

Second reason is that I just like snowflake cartridges. 6.5x55, 8mm Rem mag, etc....they just give me more to think about.

Depends on what I'm doing.

Innabearcountry, preference goes to the 10mm, but the Sig would probably work, too.

For EDC, .40 is fine. It's more than enough power and doesn't over-penetrate and is easier to handle in my opinion. Plus it's more common which means greater choice in the actual gun itself and ammo is cheaper and easier to find which means more trigger time to train.

The sig because it has that style look of the older nazi Germany calibers before being revision to the 9mm

Also I want my goddamn reproduction luger pistol chambered in sig rounds or at least the C96 chambered in sig

.357 SIG

My carry round is a 124gr 9mm bullet. With the .357 SIG, I can add 300fps and 215ft/lbs of energy to that bullet over the 9mm, penetrate barrier material that the .40 will literally bounce off of, and create permanent wound cavities as wide and 20% longer than any other service caliber. It shoots flatter than any service caliber. The case shoulder improves feeding reliability over a straight-walled cartridge. It's just about perfect.

....except it's fucking expensive. But, the second I make enough money to use it to heat my home, I'll be buying into the meme.

You got a few choices of wilderness defenseive loads with 10mm.

Otherwise, you have a very special snowflake cartridge in .357 sig and .40 is being dumped real fast and you got trade in and surplus followed by much more expensive rise in cost unless some big agency adopts it.

10mm is originally a badass round

hipsters, as is the convention, covet the former badass field of something and then claim it for their "own"

instilling their hipster culture around an element and turning a former badass thing into a faggy hipster thing

Why? The dimensions are already right for 9mm Luger and we know this works. I'd rather have a Red 9 repro than monstrosity you're advocating, it's not like you'd use it for anything but plinking.

If you're going to reload, don't bother with the Glocks. They bulge the cases near the head due to the unsupported chambers.

Don't bother, just get the P762. 1911s are popular because their trigger is a major cruch.

I like my .40 just fine. Stop pretending it won't work just fine as a defense round loaded up with sexy hollowpoints, or that I can't deliver ft lbs approaching 10mm with hand loads.

Plus for my FNX I can get a drop-in .357 Sig barrel and feel all hipster and smug.

What's wrong with a Glock? The G20 is the best 10mm pistol you can get under $600. For the same price of an RIA, you can get the G40 with a 6'' barrel.

>>
>>29708191
>Am I being a turbo hipster fag?

Kind of.

The 10mm is powerful round, but whole point of the 10mm was to offer magnum power levels for a compact semi-auto design. If you are getting a revolver, just get a magnum since the rounds will be cheaper and easier to find.
>>
>>29708407
It's a shame current gen glocks can't shoot a full load 10mm with out changing out some parts. Now the STI perfect 10 is a beautiful masterpiece. It's got a little more weight to help with recoil and for all you 9mm users and 40 short & whimpy, if you are not using a 10mm then it's because your girly little wrists can't handle it's sure awesomeness.
>>
>>29708103
maybe 15 years ago

glock has been making supported chambers since the gen 3s

>Browning Hi-Power
>Revolver
>>
>>29708447
357 coming out of the revolver has less power then if it came out of a semi auto. The magnums are designed so they can still hold some power since they loose a lot of potential energy between the cylinder and the barrel
>>
>>29708191
The only way you could be more of a faggot is if you bought RIP rounds for it.

Too bad I don't think they make it in 10mememeter.

Not really.

People just like change out the spring is for peace of mind and because they want to feel like they are adding a level of customization to their guns. Even if you do feel like it is necessary, changing the spring is an investment of $9 and 30 seconds.

>460 Rowland
What actually makes the brass different that enables it to withstand the much higher pressures? I read that .460 Rowland Starline brass is actually slightly thinner than their .45 Super brass. Is it just that Rowland is pushing into dangerous territory, or is the brass a different alloy and/or heat treated in such a way that makes it magical?
>>
