Make sure you round your back. You know how (you probably don't but whatever) for heavy lifting you NEVER round your back? Abdominal work is the opposite, always round your lower back for abs work. Doing it in the grass probably would help, make sure there are no rocks or anything under you though obviously. Crunches are better than nothing, and if you have a pullup bar, hanging leg raises are an excellent alternative to situps.

CRO is just about the most difficult position to get in the entire armed forces. Not only do they not need very many but you have to be an EMT and world-class athlete plus officer responsibilities. Security Forces though, shouldn't be too hard. I don't think it's nearly as competitive as infantry officers since security forces are just like, infantry for people who don't actually want to be infantry.

USMC, 2004-2009 here. It never once happened to me that the entire platoon was punished for the repeated fuckups of an individual. If a person fucks up and we did not help him, or we laughed at him, we were all punished, but we were never punished for something someone else did.
The military doesn't do lateral punishments like that anymore since it tends to result in the offending recruit being punished by his fellow recruits. The military does not want that. Recruits, being dumber than shit, are not trained on how to properly instruct and motivate a recruit.
A number of changes happened since you were inspired by R. Lee Ermey's Hartman.
First, the military realized that physically beating a recruit did nothing to motivate him or make him learn faster. It just bred resentment and passive-agressiveness
Secondly, they got rid of the draft. Once they went to an all-volunteer force, the military was composed almost entirely of people who WANTED to be there. They aren't being forced anymore. Now, recruits are more motivated and they are receiving training that they want. The threat of being beaten is a distant second to the threat of being kicked out.

When I was at BCT I was two pounds overweight, so they put me on restricted diet. Over the course of training I shed so much weight I was actually underweight when I finished. They never took me off the restricted diet even though I was within the normal weight range probably the second day.

I did two tours in Afghanistan and I do not mention it at all to other Marines. Many of my co-workers who were in the armed forces don't actually know I am a veteran. I've seen how the guys with a CIB talk down to every other veteran, now that no one's rank counts. If this was just a few years ago, they wouldn't say shit if they had a mouthful because I was an E-5 and they were an E-3, but now we're both equal.

What do you even do?
Plumbers, basically. We set up and maintain the plumbing and water needs of a base. That means keeping the tanks full, setting up and maintaining filtration and de-salinization equipment. The drinking water is all bottled, but the showers still need water.
We are still deployed and when moving between FOBs we typically act as gunners. (Every marine is a rifleman foremost.)
It's actually a pretty interesting job. You get a good workout, you learn some neat skills. You're kept busy but not with busywork.

Do you have 20/20 when wearing glasses? If so, you can be a pilot.
They want "correctable to 20/20" (meaning with glasses) not just "20/20".
If you have an astigmatism, then nothing can help you. Avoid Lasik if at all possible, because there are plenty of side-effects that can completely kill your piloting ambitions. Just wear your glasses. Lots of pilots wear glasses.

As I understand, PLC is a much easier path than OCS.
The split sessions is nice, and they give you a little leeway if your GPA starts to dip. With OCS, you're either in or you're out, since you're done with school.
Apply early and often, get your grades up (this is the most important bit), and be able to achieve a 300 with no problem.

In my experience, within the first month we lost about 10 total from our platoon, but they were just non trainers who didn't want to hack it so they faked some shit to get a profile. They EVENTUALLY get sent home, but the paperwork takes so long that if you really hate training, fucking finish it in 10 weeks, because they keep your ass.
The only guy who got sent home was from another platoon, he pissed off everyone he went around and he garnered complaints every time he opened his mouth. That being said, we had a transplant from another company in my platoon, he got kicked out of his company for pointing his weapon down range while 1sg was inspecting grouping shots.

I am a woman, I am in the Army as an 88M (IED finder). Was active, now reserves. My unit did two tours in Iraq.
I can speak to some of the concerns:
The strength thing: I could do enough push ups to meet the men's minimum requirement. The minimum requirements for the men aren't exactly hard. 42 push ups in 2 minutes is harder for a woman but it's nothing crazy. With a little bit of training a woman can build up enough upper body strength to meet the minimum men's requirements. The sit ups requirements are equal anyway and the running requirements are practically walking pace.
Dealing with men: It's literally like everywhere else. 99% of the men are fine and treat people with decency and respect. 1% are assholes. There's actually more assholes in college than there were in the Army. The same guys that made really rude cracks about women would be the same ones that made offensive jokes about gays or black people or Mexicans or whatever.

USUHS is the a medical officer producing college for the military. You go in, and become a licensed MD, and commission into any of the branches. It's very competitive, last board had something like a 7% selection rate, with an average MCAT of 31. It's easier to get into some civilian med schools.
Anyways, I'm applying to med schools next year and I will not be pursuing USHUS. I'm going to instead pursue an Army HSPS scholarship was pays 100% of my tuition, and provided a monthly tuition.
I've heard USHUS being very similar to the academies in terms of high academic, and a lot of PT. I don't have any first hand experiences, since I'm still a pre-med student, but this is just from a lot of online researching and shit.
Officer training for medical officers is different, focused more on medical stuff obviously. Being a doc in the military is much different from being a normal officer. Do you know about the military's residency program?

Do you have any research? I go to a small state school and have not seen the opportunity to research, and don't even know where to find it. I'm also URM, so I guess I have a small advantage there, but I don't flaunt that.

I was going to enlist when I was 18, but I had to get a surgery, while I was in and out of the hospital for a few weeks I fell in love with medicine, and decided to go to college and pursue medicine instead. But the desire to serve never left me.

It's not that I have something huge against DO school, but I'd prefer MD. Luckily Florida has close to 9 MD programs and 6 DO schools, so in state would be feasible.
However, I've also heard that if you are going in-state there is no reason to take the scholarship because your compensation is underwhelming compared to a civilian sector job. So we'll see.
My Grandfather was a Navy Physician, but my father never served. I can't put my finger on why I want to do it, but I get a huge boner whenever I get to touch/see anything military.

Well, you are commissioned as an O3 in the Army. So you'd be taking almost 4k in base pay day 1, compared to a resident making maybe 40-50k for 3-7 years. There's a lot a huge amount of debt going to med school obviously.
What specialties are you interested in?
Obviously subject to change during med school, but right now surgery or critical care of some sort.
In the military we don't have to worry about Malpractice insurance, insurance companies, prescription availability, any of that. We would get paid/get a stipend in school, and receive higher pay than most residents, and have no debt. It just seems like a great deal overall, unless you get shafted and put on a base in the middle of nowhere.
