You and I both know thats not true. Not every goddamn gun in your collection has to be an amazing combat weapon. 1911s are excellent competition guns and a hell of a lot of fun to shoot.
>>
>>29581301
Funny.

My buddy's got a commander sized RIA one and it functions flawlessly.

Ironically enough, the handgun I get the most trouble from is a SIG P226, however they're still excellent weapons.

The biggest disappointment in existence has to be the 10/22 though.
Fuck that worthless jamming piece of shit.
>>
>>29581664
Honestly I've never had issues with mine, it seems as long as you clean it properly and lube it it works flawlessly, unless youare using subsonic then it's a pile.

ITT: People blame guns for limpwristing and jamming on .04 cent ammunition
>>
>>29581685
I've dismantled the thing entirely several times and done the same cleaning I do when I clean out/restore a mill (dismantle everything, bathe it in denatured alcohol and brush and wipe it down, the. Live it with Hoppes gun oil)

It still jams like a motherfucker even with federal brand ammo and CCI minimags and stingers.
I use nothing but Ruger brand mags.

It came from the factory with a bent of recoil spring guide rod, and something was felt with the reciever dimensions because it took whacking the damn thing on the table to get the fucking bolt out.

Then, getting the damn barrel out took almost a fucking hour.
Getting it back together was easy enough though.
>>29581698
>normy
Nope. I've been here daily for four years straight. I frequent night /k/. I sleep with my current go to rifle, my AK. I am most definitely not a normy.
Oh, and since you seem like a rugerfag, I will explain that once I'd cleaned it I sold that piece of shit, and I haven't regretted it a damn bit.

You're an idiot

I'm not OP.
I'm >>29581664
The damn thing never worked right.
Like I said, I fully dismantled and cleaned it and used high quality ammo with factory magazines.
It didn't work right even then, and it came from the factory with one part visibly fucked up and another that was probably fucked.

It's the reason I won't buy anything Ruger.
>>
>>29581779
well this is embarrassing. I'm the idiot.

>>29581757
How many rounds do you have through it? What is the nature of the jams? Double feed? Stovepipe?
If it's relatively new, you could put some flitz in the action and try to smooth out some of the burs
>>
>>29581743
>.04 cent
>thinks a gun that can't handle shit ammunition isn't shit
>>
>>29581795
I put around a thousand rounds of federal and CCI brand stuff through it before I sold it.

It typically would catch the casing after ejecting it (stovepipe) or would double feed and have the second round fall out of the mag and down into the back of the gun.
>>
>>29581664
My current one hasn't jammed once, and it ate several hundred rounds of cheap ammo before the last time I cleaned it. Neither the did one my uncle had, he let us put thousands of rounds through it, and we kept it on the 4wheeler in case of coyote, rattlesnakes or boars. Never one time do I remember it jamming and I saw it eat over a thousand rounds in one day. A dud or two, but no jams.
>>
I've put about 3000 rounds through my 10/22, cleaned it once, and I've never had a single failure to extract failure to fire, or weapon malfunction. I get occasional failure to feeds with non-Ruger 25 round mags, but those go away when I download them to 22 rounds.
>>
>>29581810
did you try replacing that recoil spring? Those 10/22s are great guns, sounds like you just got a lemon. Was it the standard no frills carbine? (not that that would change the quality tBh)
I was hoping you would say like 200 rounds but that's not the case

my 10/22 is a standard carbine model. I've not had any issues with it what so ever. I only use factory 10 rnders and bx-25s though. I love my 10/22

more memes plz
>>
>>29581903
I work at a shooting range so I see all manner of .22s (and obviously others). the 10/22 is well-regarded.

Unfortunately it sounds like anon had a lemon

sorry, no memes, on the uni computer and I'm a /fit/izen anyway so I don't really have /k/ memes
>>
>>29581757
Should have called and bitched out Ruger, you'd have at least got a replacement (assuming it was new) before damning the whole line. I don't blame you for feeling burned after that though.
>>
>>29581664
Its the ammo. 22's are picky because most 22lr is garbage Find some ammo it likes, and it will run like a top.
>>
>>29582235
he went on to say that it didn't work with federal (assuming it's the semi auto match, that should work nicely) and even CCI velocitors

10/22s are not particularly ammo picky, I hazard he just had some bad part
>>
>>29581301

Out of a dozen plus 1911s I've owned, only one was finicky. A para, which I got rid of quickly. That was about 25 years ago.
>>
>>29581806
What your gun can handle is irrelevant if there's not enough powder to make it go "BANG" loud enough.
>>
I have put well over 2,000 rounds through my springfield 1911. It has jammed twice, both times were due to shitty ammo. 2/10 for making me reply.
>>
>>29581301
This is why you don't buy a kimber.
>>
>>29581791
Call ruger if you still have it. They're great when it comes to customer service. They'll fix it.
>>
>>29581664
Mine stovepipes all the fucking time too, I even put in a Volquartsen extractor which lots have said fix the issue. I've heard bending the ejector a bit can fix the issue, but I haven't tried that yet.
