Hey. Have any of you ever used this "diamond CLP"? The owner makes all kinds of wild claims about his product. He says that they use perfectly round microscopic diamonds or something. It all seems like snake oil to me.

If it sounds like snake oil, it probably is.

I use normal cleaners and Lucas products for lube.

I'll stick with hoppes. Cheap and simple.

Diamond is well known as making one of the best abrasives due to its hardness
>>

why would you want a hard material lubricating your firearm? even if it is round, it's just going to act as a slurry and cut into your gun.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I've always known diamonds to be crystalline in structure. That makes no sense.

It's probably just vegetable oil, or _MABE_ canola oil. Still a good lubricant, but not the best preservative/rust preventative.

What's wrong with Mobil 1?

I'd laugh so fucking hard if these guys were peddling vegetable oil for 50 bucks a bottle.

well to be fair, so is silicon, and the most perfectly round spheres mankind has created are silicon.
>>
sounds like that coating for cars that keeps em clean for a long ass time
>>
>>29553551
But isn't silicon metallic as opposed to diamonds?
>>
>>29553579
Owner claims its for guns as well.
>>
>>29553534

Well, fire clean was peddling their vegetable oil mix for$25 a bottle...

nope. covalent bonding. and both are crystalline (or they can be amorphous, but metallic glasses are a bit harder to make than silicon glasses)
