Does anyone here do precision shooting?
I need help choosing between two different scopes for a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle for shooting out to 1000 yds (eventually), and for hunting.

What glass do you have in mind?
>>29551556
Currently, my #1 consideration for my budget is a Trijicon Accupower 4-16x MOA reticle.
My budget is $1k, and I want a 30mm tube because thats the rings I have.
>>29551802
Im also looking at stretching my budget and getting a Nightforce SHV 4-14x. I kinda wish it had a bit more magnification in the higher end though...
>>29551802
rings are like 10 bucks don't let that limit your options.
>>29551802
Go SWFA until you can afford to spend 2k on optics
>>29551544
>precision shooting
>posts AR
OP must have a pretty long basement, because it's obvious he's never shot a greater distance than the back wall after fapping to traps.
>>29551978
>buy a $1-2k scope
>put it in cheap chinkshit $10 rings
Best idea Ive heard yet. Cant wait to ring steel at 1k yards with that setup.
>>29552043
Sooooo Nightforce SHV?
>>29552047
What, you want me to go take a photo of a fresh outta the box bolt action rifle?>>29552047
What an amazing contribution to the conversation.
>>29552263
I like USO MR10, but to each their own.
>>29552281
Its not going on an AR15.
>>29551544
My scope was like 500 and has a red dot/great magnification.
Vxr patrol red dot

>put it in cheap chinkshit $10 rings
you think $50 rings are any different than $10 rings? are they enchanted by a wizard at the factory to give +10 accuracy? I don't get it.
>>29552442
What is quality control?
>>29552491
what is return policy?
go ahead and spend whatever you like man I'm just offering my 2c. I have cheap rings and they work fine. they hold the scope to my rifle. you don't need $50 for that my friend.
>>29552541
>what is return policy
So how many times do you need to return a product before it would have been worth it just to pay for quality?
>>29552608
you probably wont have to return $10 rings man. there isn't a whole lot that can go wrong during their manufacturing process. check reviews on cheap rings from amazon, very few low star reviews which means 100% of buyers give 5 stars for having their scope vibrate out of zero or they work. you decide.

Bushnell HDMRs around that price and are pretty great.Viper PST6-24s are also pretty nice in that price point.
I've got a mildot reticle 6-24x50 Sightron S3 in Badger Ordnance rings on my 700. The Sightron is great. Obviously it's not a US Optics or Nightforce but it's extremely clear and I've shot it out to 1100 with good results.
>>29552281
>>29552043
I second both of these.
> that feel when just 1 paycheck short of USO
>>29551978
>1000yrds
>$10 rings
It's bedtime Timmy.
>>29552396
Convert that already you filth

Gr8 b8 m8. R8 8/8
>>29553361
>>29553379
i forgot when shooting over 600 10$ rings explode. its a fucking ring you moron. it holds the scope on. it doesn't do anything else. pure FUDD in here.
>>29551978
Post your groups and round count please.
>>29551544
Does >=100 yards count as precision shooting?
>>29553619
Yes.
>>29553619
As long as you dont consider a milk jug at 150 precision.
>>29553400
Post your rifle.
$10 dollar rings will shift poa. Reason most people dont notice is because they shit pie plates at 100 yards and thats good enoigh to kill bambi.
>>29551802
Trijicon is more of a point and shoot, than precision scope. 1k id look for a used bushnell or if your willing to save, like others mentioned a swfa would be plenty good.
>>29553886
The fixed power ones are best bang for buck IMO.
>>29553897
If only they were available in canada :(
>>29554215
import ban? why?
>>29554317
Swfa doesnt want to pay for itar. We are not a big enoug market up here for them.
>>29554331
Don't suppose you have a pen pale in the US willing to send it to you?
>>29554352
None who want to ship itar restricted items across the border.
>>29554377
Fair enough.
>>29554382
I want one though.
>>29554390
Could you drive down to the US and buy it there and bring it back up... I know firearms that's a big no no, but optics?
I'm not gonna lie, i'm not well versed in ITAR
>>29554403
The swfa's have texhnology that was developed on us gov $ so if swf wants to export them thwy have to get a spwcial license. For anyone elsw to transport them over the lines is basically selling military tech. No good.
>>29554430
Ahh, well then ...
