Alright /k/ 2016 is the year of the habbening. I need a pistol, a rifle, loads of ammo, and a good knife. I was thinking 9mm for the sidearm, I have no idea what I should do for a rifle since .223 is probably gonna be dried up and those rifles are expensive, need suggestions. Lastly I need a knife, need suggestions. General civilization breakdown survival thread.

What's your price range? What do you want to do with it? Put some extra money aside for a small multi-tool or swiss army type knife. It will be useful for tasks that are a hassle with your bigger knife, and in day-to-day tasks.

I can go as high as $100, but I'm also wondering whether that actually buys me anything more useful than $50

.223 rifles aren't expensive. Choose your favorite 9mm that can hold at least 15 rounds, build an AR and don't stock up on ammo invest in a reloading set up and start stocking up materials.

Okay, under 100 budget:
If you want a big knife, Ontario SP10:

If you want a smaller knife, Becker BK16 or BK17:

Either choice leaves you with money left over for a multitool and/or swiss army knife.

Any suggestions? Are automatic rifles not around $1500?
