What guns do you consider must haves for your collection? Rifles, shotguns, and pistols are all fair game.

Pic related, my SKS D model with a 20 round mag. I'm 19 and she's the only fun I own right now. Was wondering what else I should get. Preference towards guns I could actually shoot whenever I want and handguns that fit well in big hands, because I have big hands. Guns I am thinking about include a nugget, an Enfield No. 4 Mk 1, and then later on a Glock and/or a 1911 of some kind. Thoughts?
>>
>>29508659
a 1911 is necessary. glock not so much these days since there's so many alternatives.
at least one bolt action rifle, at least one lever rifle, at least one shotgun, and at least one magnum revolver.

for practicality you need at least one full size handgun and one pocket size handgun, and a semi automatic rifle in .223, .308, or 7.62x39
>>
A good semiautomatic intermediate carbine.
A good bolt action .308 or higher.
A good dedicated CCW pistol.
A good larger pistol, not necessarily full size but with regular capacity.
A good pump or semi shotgun in 20 or 12ga.
A good .22lr rifle, semi preferred but lever/bolt/pump acceptable.

Those are the bare bones basics. The basic bitch starter kit for this list is: AR15, Savage/Tikka boltgun, Shield 9, Glock 19, Mossberg 500, Ruger 10/22. But anything will work.
>>
M1 Garand, 1911, Mossy 590(A1), AR-15, AK variant of some sort, a bolt gun above .300, and a concealed pistol of choice
>>
>>29508659
Mossberg 500
Glock 19
ar-15
Ruger 10-22
Nugget
CCW your choice

What are your recommendations?
>>
>>29508659
This is what I personally consider to be the very least amount of guns every enthusiast should own

>a fighting rifle, intermediate or full caliber
Choice of which is up to your preferences, but don't cheap out. For example don't get a century if you choose to run an AK, get a legit saiga or arsenal (at that price point though might as well consider a battle rifle)
>a defensive handgun
Something you can carry and actually will carry. Don't try to combine roles with the next category.
>a fighting handgun
A "duty" or home defense handgun. Hammer or striker fire doesn't matter, whichever you prefer. Maybe even get both, most enthusiasts end up with a lot of handguns just because there's such a wide range of options.

That is THE BASE. 3 guns, if you're a fatty maybe you can combine 2 & 3 with something compact but again I don't recommend it because for most it has to be something convenient to carry or they won't actually carry it. Some stuff to add if you get into it as a hobby:

>survival rifle
Some .22, preferably a takedown that can fit in a pack.
>shotgun
For range fun and possibly survival purposes.
>surplus shit
For range fun and to lend to friends when shtf.
>more rifles and handguns
Because you like to waste money that could be spend on ammo. I personally think it's better to consolidate your arsenal and train with a few things rather than confuse yourself with too wide a variety of things.
>>
>>29508659
For me, personally?
Besides what I already have, a USP, lever action 45-70 of some sort, and an AR of some kind. Maybe an LCR? Or a bersa thunder or something else concealable.
>>
>>29509124
Also

>long distance rifle
Might as well get a semi auto these days.
>>
>>29508659

quintessential guns for your plane jane collection

>AR/AK derivative
>handgun with a minimum 12 round capacity in one of the big 3 chamberings
>optional revolver chambered for higher energy cartridge than 9mm, .40s&w, or .45ACP
>milsurp rifle
>semi or bolt .308
>.22lr anything
>12/20 gauge shotgun
>optional CCW
>optional SBS/SBR/auto

Shoot didn't realize OP meant specific gunz. These are my choices for each category.

>rifle
For now a saiga, I'll be switching to a battle rifle in the next couple years. I'm waiting for the MDR, if that never exists then some other 308 bullpup or a SCAR.

>carry gun
Ruger lc9s for now, switching to a glock 26 soon.

>duty gun
FNS-9, I consider this gun to be a perfect piece of engineering and I'm the pickiest motherfucker ever. I fucking love this handgun and shill for it often.

>survival rifle
Gotta have a 10/22, takedown model for me.

>shotty
Currently have a mossberg 500 thunder ranch but want to switch to a semi auto, probably the 930.

>surplus
SKS is a must own. Mosins are fun but getting too expensive for what they are. Makarov. I want to get some legit muskets too.

>long distance
Savage hog hunter or some other option that has irons. This is the only role I haven't filled yet, I should get on it. Might even just combine roles with the battle rifle though.
>>
>>29508659
>battle rifle
>conventional semiauto intermediate caliber
>bullpup semiauto intermediate caliber
>shotgun
>full size handgun
>subcompact handgun
>>
>>29508659
12 gauge pump, a bolt action 30-06, and any .22. And of the three, the 30-06 is the indispensable king.
>>
>>29509064
Not a 1911 unless you want a pure range toy.

Either pic related or a Mauser 98.
>>
OP here, thank you everyone for your input.
>>
>>29508659
I need a mauser and a striker pistol. I also really really want an M1 carbine. After that maybe a semi auto shotgun or a tactical one.

What I have is
Chinese 1897 clone
AR-15
Wasr-10
SKS russian
Savage mk II G

RIA 1911
USP 45
92fs
cheap shitty 22 revolver
and a No.4 mk 1* made by savage that is fucked.
>>
>>29509044
>Not buying a proper GI spec 1911
>Not realizing that these boutique grade 1911s (and kimbers) are the only unreliable 1911s
>Not buying the most ergonomic and easy shooting gun ever
>Not buying a gun that is large enough to be comfortable but slim enough to conceal
>Not realizing they have 8 round flush mags so that you can have a total of 9 rounds
>Not realizing that with a quick change of the recoil spring you can shoot .45 super, which fucks on 9mm every day.
>Not buying a gun that literally makes you more American even if it's philipeno.

It's like you hate America man. Shame those dirty harry dubs had to be wasted on such a square.
>>
>>29509286
>Mosins are getting too expensive for what they are
At least the ammo is still pretty cheap.
>>
>>29508659

>milsurp bolt rifle
>SKS
>AK/AR
>shotgun of some kind
>handgun in a common caliber
>traditional hunting rifle, bolt or lever

Yes I think everyone should own an sks
>>
>>29508659
>light weight intermediate rifle that can be comfortably carried all day including some spare ammo, pick what you like but I think the vz does it best as stripper clips are easier to carry and I can go between a folder/fixed stock in minutes
>full caliber rifle of your choice, I prefer semi auto that at least has the ability to take a scope at some point in the future
>12ga shotgun of your choice
>airgun for borderline free plinking and practice
>handguns aren't a must to me, get one if you want but they bore me to shoot and I'd grab my 12ga & buck all day in a defensive situation
>>
>>29511639
recommend an airgun? most seem to be shit
>>
>>29513408
I've just got a gamo whisper fusion, then a whisper fusion pro in 22 cal.
Both have treated me damn well so far. I've normally stuck with using irons though on the 177, but both come with a scope if you prefer.
One reason I like them so well is that their irons are so nice, and the guns are pretty quiet while having good punch for an air rifle.
>>
I have the following,

16" Midlength AR in 5.56

Nugget

Browning BPS in 12Ga

Manlicher 10/22

Ruger SR9

Sig P938

What am I missing?

my baikal mp-18 shotgun,I love its primitiveness and utility. these shotguns are also made by the russian arms manufacturer that made the mosin nagant, sks, and AK series which I thought was neat.

heres a stock photo of one.

Only like, 2 guys listed M1 Garand.

You are the only two who are not objectively wrong.
>>
>>29513577
You desperately need a USP.
>>
>>29513629
I'm actually looking for a high quality fullsize gun to complement my AR for tacticool shit, the USP, Glock 19, and M&P Pro are my runners up.
>>
>>29513602
there are civilian model 30-06 rifles that are far cheaper, more accurate, and have readily available accessories and replacement parts.

The USP is the only "High Quality" gun on that list you posted. The other two are perfectly serviceable mid-tier options.
