How much of a role would the US Highways play in an invasion?
>>
>>29500952
Considering they were designed with an invasion or hostile takeover specifically in mind....

In the unlikely case of such a scenario, Highways would turn into converted airstrips and be used exclusively by military forces to transport supplies and logistics. Civilians would have to GTFO.
>>
>>29500952
This, if you guys specifically mean the freeway system, not all US highways in general.
>>
It would not be used by the US forces, they know better than to get on 95 after 4. The interstate is actually a trap for the enemies. The longer they stay on the interstate the longer they stay in traffic and endless construction zones. Ladies and gents, THIS is the reason why traffic will never be fixed around DC. Also, the US forces will have EZ passes to troll Russian faggots stuck in bumper to bumper traffic as Abram tanks and Stryker cruise by them at a smooth 55 to 65 mph.
>>
any opposition vehicle will have its bulletproof windows blinded by harassing gunfire from the hills and woods within 5 minutes. you cant just invade america. you have to introduce biocidal warfare first and foremost and then wait for a massive die off. but then youll have to contend with hard cunt survivors with no plebeians holding them back. youve got to take america out from the inside before attempting a foreign invasion. infiltration and subversion for decades.

Or you just wait until shillary and the libs take all the guns and turn every man over 6 year old into a caged sissy trap then you invade the country, kill all the women and keep the the fembois as concubines.

>"If drive through Americans fine me 2500 rubles! Is whole months salary!"

Okay, enemy country has invaded from the west coast, they've pushed all the way to the Mississippi river. How important are highways, freeways, etc.
>>
The harassment from the indigenous people, especially in the south, would not be worth the perceived benefits of using major US roadways
>>
>>29500952
Either
A). Airstrips for US forces
or
B). Place for harassment of foreign convoys by militias
>>
Makes it easier for Bubba to take his .30-30 to where the enemy is and get BTFO.

A large one.

If you can control a given area with a highway in it, it would prove extremely useful for your supply chain.

Bitch who said anything about an invasion?

it would be EMP strikes after another then high cluster bombs and small size nukes going off
as well as massive public water poisoning and forget about electricity

massive bioligical weapons being fired by sleeper subs at large populated areas making people extremity sick and crops dying none stop

civilians have zero chances of survival after just 2 weeks of war in the US

doesn't matter how many guns you own faggots they know your weakness and they know how to penetrate it and apply mission objective

>West coast stabs America in the back and provides secure beach head/supplies for massive coalition
>Americans betray one another based on political lines

A traditional invasion and occupation would never work without some drastic economic implosion, but turning Americans against one another and propping up a puppet state well...

you've doot-doot'ed for the last time, mr skeltal. You're skellington invasion of the US will never succeed so long as the American people can maintain it's morale.
>>
Example Redding ca if a Given force can take and hold Redding an opposing force would have to use HWY101 or take 80 out to Reno and use hack HWYs to get from sac to OR now the problem with the alternatives

first: more likely to get ambushed both alternatives to I5 through Redding are narrow at spots and require you cross bridges that are not easy to bypass and in some cases bridges that cant hold the weight

Second: distance both routes will be either 2-3 hundred more miles or 4-5 hundred more miles depending

third: both I5 and HWY101 have bridges that if dropped would require a 50-60 miles detour if there was/is one that exist

TLDR how one town could fuck over supply lines
>>
>>29500960
using the 22 to the 405 merge good lord what a cluster fuck of a air strip.
>>
>>29500960

>Highways would turn into converted airstrips

This can't happen.
>>
>>29507824

One mile in every five in the national highway system is perfectly straight - by federal law - for that exact purpose.

functional air strips have to be made of concrete several feet thick to withstand the weight and pressure of large aircraft, which far exceeds what we put on out normal roads. Just building them straight wouldn't be enough to land planes on them. Aside from the engineering problems with this idea, there's no logistical reason to do it.
>>
>>29505233
Californians would go for that. They believe they have America by the balls.
>>
>>29500960
I could only imagine how hard it would be to keep civilians off. They would have to shoot on sight just to get the point across.
>>
Some highways can be fucking death traps. See highway 17 running from Santa Cruz to the bay area. Takes about 25 min without traffic but up to 2 hours+ with heavy traffic. That fuckin highway is any ambushers wet dream thanks to the geography surrounding it the highway.
>>
>>29500960
>Highways would turn into converted airstrips
You know, I thought this for years, but apparently it's an urban legend. The interstate was never intended or designed to be used as makeshift runways.

>>29508161
This is also a myth. No such law exists. It's a meme from before Internet memes were a thing.
>>
>>29508799
Military aircraft are designed to be able to land on sub optimal strips. Which is why the c17 can land on sand.
>>
>>29500952
People would drive on them?
>>
>>29508799
Yeah, runways are actually supported by extremely large concrete slabs. Anti-runway bombs attempt to displace those slabs.

They would run into a motherfucker of a guerilla resistance once they hit the mountains.

Check back in with us after Gavin Newsom is elected governor. He is crazy enough to enforce SAFE Act style legislation in little rural towns. And hell will crack.
>>
>>29509483
Agreed. If they even got through the mess of urban areas on the coast once they hit the sierras they'd get bogged down.
