God I hate this pretentious fuck. He knows jackshit. His entire channel is based on speculation and he doesn't even have the decency to post sources to back up his claims.

>WELL, UHM, YA SEE IN THE MOVIES PEOPLE DO THIS *BUT* IN REALITY THINGS WERE DONE PRECISELY THE WAY I SAY
I bet he believes his own bullshit.

But the funniest quote must be:
>Most of the wars in the past were fought by sieges; rarely two opposing armies would meet on open ground to battle.
Are you fucking kidding me? Then how comes most of the historical records mention way more battles than sieges?
Did historians just forget about sieges because they're less cool?

And yes, people did carry large swords on their back. It happened, just not during a battle. Just because Hollywood made it a trope it doesn't mean it's not practical. A sword is relatively light, even greatswords don't exceed 6 pounds or so. Carrying it on your back means your hands are free and it's not awkward to walk around, expecially indoors.
>>
Oh, almost forgot he always say "people in the past". Past when? Where? Like his videos about torches.
You mean Late Medieval period in Britain or Ancient Middle East? Who did that, the peasants or the rich?
You could be a little more precise, Lindy.

When has he ever said that?

That's literally what he says in the video.

Regarding historical records, the state of history as a discipline has gone downhill sharply after the '60s or so. 'Social' history has been overwhelmingly favoured at the expense of various things including military history. I would not be surprised in the slightest if recent historians had just forgotten about sieges. If you want good military history, go prior to 1970. There has been some good stuff written since but you really need to be careful.

No he didn't. Apparently the guy really hates Hollywood tropes.

He specifically mentions William the Bastard's conquest of England to highlight that point. There was one battle at Hastings and...that was it. No one else tried to fight the Normans in the field.

I second, third, and fourth this. With zeal.

I think I can safely diagnosing you with a case of 'giving too much of a fuck'. It seems you've contracted the youtube channel debunker strain.
Symptoms also include vitriolically dismissing the trick arrow shooting guy lars something or other, riding matt easton's dick and having problem with skallagrim's hair.

Look, I like you. I like you enough to never want to see you in here again. But if you don't manage your symptoms it'll progress and I'll see you back in here in a month with a thread that just says '>silencer' in the body with a smug anime face picture.
