Bow before battle rifles
I bought a box of Remington contract 54r from 1917 today. Anyone know how rare this stuff is? Never seen it, bought it because I thought it was cool and it fits my 1918 Remington M91 well.

what makes ammunition corrosive? the powder? something else?
also, why is cheap ammo corrosive? Is corrosive ammo still made today?
>>29472937
Trips demand it faggit
>>29473004
Google corrosive primers
>>29473004
The primer is corrosive, makes it last longer. I've shot 8mm mauser from the 1930s before and it still shoots fine.
Most modern ammo is non corrosive as far as I know.

More 54r for the 54r gods
Why are you guys marking out the numbers?
It isn't like anyone is going to do anything
>>29471306
Have any idea what the best price and place to pick up an M44 would be?
>>29473354
Best place would probably be a gun show, I saw several at the one I was at today. Price wise I'm not sure, last I was looking at them they weren't more then $250 but everything has gone up since then.
Gonna sell the Mosin soon.

Is the headstamp REMINGTON - 17 - or REM-UMC 7.62m/m on those? Those are the two in my collection along with a USCCo Russian contract and Winchester Finnish contract cartridges.
These aren't the contract rounds but here is a comparison I put together of the Finnish and Russian cartridges.
>>29473855
REMINGTON - 17 on all
I got my mosin today as my first gun, can someone tell me what the factory marks mean?
>>29474055
7.62x54r.net has a pretty good data base of all the markings
>>29474069
alright I'll look there thanks
>>29471306
Hey Flandre, you should post a pic in a dress with a Mosin bolt up your ass
I bought my sako finn m39 from the first batch off of classic and I kind of want to get another. It has an absolutely beautiful stock but the bluing is pretty worn and the bore is a bit frosty and dark. with this particular rifle, extracting fired casings is a bit tough to open. (requires a firm slap to open). Should I roll the dice again with an m39 from classic?
pic related is my sako m39

>>29474360

>>29474360
>>29474378
I looked at my rifle and it looks like a 2 but the top forms a circle instead of looking like a 2
>>29474330

>>29473162

>>29474426
