So a buddy and I have been debating whether you could use a ring-mounted M203 in tandem with a suppressor, specifically the KAC Light Arms Suppressor from the 80s and early 90s (the same type used by Sgt. Gary Gordon in the film Black Hawk Down) on the CAR-15 family, specifically the M733, M723, and the M653.
He is under the impression that such a combination would not be possible because the ring-mounting on the M203 would block the suppressor's mount as well.
Can any of you confirmed whether or not this is true? Pictures demonstrating this would be a great help.

Wait what?
Put the launcher on first ya dingus.

Not as helpful of a response as I had hoped.
But...

It's really not as complicated as it you may think. As long as the 203 is put on first, there shouldn't be a problem with a suppressor. The mount doesn't go that far forward.

In what possible situation would you need to a silenced rifle and a grenade launcher. Surely one makes the other useless?

You have the tactical forethought of a toddler.

Seconded
Why would an army wear camo when they end up being seen anyway. I don't get it.
>>29465938
Tell that to my MGSV loadouts.

>surpressed rifle for when things are going well
>launcher for if shit hits the fan
>>29465938
I'll let Mr. ODA here do the talking
>>29465738
That's great to know and all but does anyone have photo/video of the M203/Suppressor combo on the M733, M723, or M653?
Just so we're all clear here, I'm talking about an old school KAC Light Arms Suppressor, which is supposed to go all the way up the barrel to the forward sight, not the modern QD which can be mounted on the muzzle.

Why would we even bother loading mags? The end up empty anyway

The only people who used CAR-15's fitted with M203 and suppressors at the same time are some black ops dudes whom your chances to find any pictures of are equal to none
>>29468133
Yeah, I don't think you can do both. The M203 needs to secure to something on the front of the rifle itself. If the supressor takes up the whole barrel, then that's a no-go.
You can do a moderator or a suppressor that attaches to the brake though.
On a semi-related note, here is an M203 adapted to fit on the birdcage of a 10.5 inch Colt barrel.

I pointed that out to him and he's still got his doubts.

Except an M203 ring only takes up a small amount of space in front of the birdcage. What would prevent someone from shortening the suppressor to compensate for the lost space?
I'm sure some Armorer has at least played with the idea and came up with a solution.
