>>
>>29456408

the funny thing is most of those are standard features on modern 1911s
>>

There is one thing they got wrong, thought it's pretty minor. The feed ramp shown at 0:45 is that of a ramped barrel, not a stock USGI barrel. The fact that they mention the polished feed ramped but not the ramped barrel gives the impression that ramped barrels are standard.

I've never really found the ball cut on the slide appealing until this game.

what

Look at the barrel part of the slide. It's cut differently than a traditional GI one.
>>
>>29456619
how so?

Notice the radius below the front slide serrations and how it differs to the standard radius.
>>
>>29456695
ah. I never noticed a difference there before.
is there any point to that besides looks?
>>
>>29456707
Nope, 100% cosmetic.
>>
>>29456389
The problem with this is the fact that a lot of it is preferential, but he talks like THIS IS AND THIS DOES IMPROVE THE GOOOON. Which isn't true.
>>
>>29456389

In order:

>Feed ramp
Yes

>reinforced slide
No

>iron welding
yes

>front strap
yes

>sights
yes

>hammer
no idea what he means by "cocking control"
It does increase the speed at which the hammer will drop in theory.
In reality its not really worth thinking about.
Skeletonized hammers are cosmetic.

>grip safety
Yes, you can remove it.
However, in that setup, the hammer would probably hit your hand as you fired it

>thumb safety and slide stop
yes

>trigger guard
yes
(although that high grip will bite you in the ass when the hammer hits your hand every shot)

>trigger
length has nothing to do with "finger access"
its basically a preference thing

>trigger pull
yes

>mag well
yes

>mag catch
Yes

>mainspring housing
flat vs arched has nothing to do with grip
it has to do with changing the grip angle to what is more natural for you

>front serrations
they're basically just there to look cool and maybe for chamber checking

These are pretty much all cosmetic or preference modifications.
If you really wanted to make the gun demonstrably better, you could add an oversized firing pin stop for example, to decrease rearward slide velocity, thereby reducing muzzle flip.

tl;dr
It's more right than 99% of people on /k/ would have done.

Best game right here.

>>29456795
shit mang thx
>>
>>29456795
Skeletonized hammers eliminate hammer bite. They aren't just cosmetic.
>>
>>29456853

Nope.
Hammer bite is caused by the hammer striking or pinching your hand during firing.
>>
>>29456795
Keep in mind it's the 1960's, a 1911 with all these mods as standard wont exist for another 50 years, for someone who is used to seeing stock gi 1911's it's a pretty big deal.
>>
>>29456875

Well sure of course.
I'm not trying to be overly critical of it or anything.

The mag well modification and iron welding the slide/frame fit are both very real upgrades.

Though it made no mention of the barrel/bushing fit, which is where most of your accuracy will come from.
Slide/frame fit is a factor in accuracy, but also a major cause of reliability problems.
>>
>>29456389
this voice acting really is bad :(
>>
>>29456874
>>29456874
Hammer bite on a 1911 is caused by skin getting caught between the hammer spur and the grip safety. Skeletonized/ring hammers have a Commander profile which lacks a spur, making hammer bite nonexistent.
>>
>>29456914

You don't need there to be a spur for it to happen.
>>
>>29456914

>Skeletonized/ring hammers have a Commander profile
No.
>>
>>29456502
Game takes place in the 60s

>Hammer bite on a 1911 is caused by skin getting caught between the hammer spur
Does this happen to a lot of people? I got medium sized hands so it's never bothered me.
>>
>>29458384
it happens to fat people with older guns like 1911s, Hi Powers, etc.
their skin rolls above the grip tang and gets pinched by the hammer.
