Now that x54r surplus has dried up, is there any reason to choose it over this rifle?

>x54r surplus has dried up

x54r surplus will never dry up; it's just a dry spell. We'll be blasting xenos on Mars with that shit in the year 2525. 7.5x55mm is used by one country that only runs off a couple billion rounds every 10 years or so. Half the world still uses x54R.

>>29449981
Definitely not that one.

BAR, Ar-15 with a nice finish and wood furniture, a special snowflake AK, and a pure white AUG. I got to fingerfuck an AUG and I almost jizzed in my pants. I also held a Kriss Vector but it was kinda underwhelming.

>Why not the Steyr 95?

If you thought x54R has "dried up"; you haven't looked for 8x56mmR. The only reason to get a Steyr M.95 is as a mechanical curiosity or military history collectable; as a shooter it's a dead end. Especially the conversions in 8x56mmR; the original 8x50mmR is easy to handload for because you can use standard .32-cal .321" projectiles and easily form cases from 7.62x54mmR brass, but the .329" is obscure as fuck, and brass has to be purpose-made.

Two Liberator pistols for the everyday low price of just $2395!

>>29450109
That's a shame. I really liked the feel of the Steyr.

Houston, TX
>>
>>29450139
Houston, it's in the ghetto but the place is incredible. :D Like a museum desu senpai.

Also fuck their prices.
>>
>>29450157
I didn't get a picture but they also had one of these made by Colt, no shit. It was about $35,000.
>>
>>29450191
Also their modern stuff was way overpriced, but the surplus I saw was breddy gud.

>>29450191
Here on a business trip. I went to that Chinese place up the road and had Dim Sum and it was rather disappointing desu.
>>
>>29449981
Not at that price. The ammo is expensive and reload data that exists sucks. If you find one at $150 or less it's worth it. Otherwise keep going..
>>
hows the market with k98 in the states guys?
germanbro here
>>
>>29450235
Not sure about 98s in particular, I skipped over those because I am not a fan particularly. But I did see a ton of 8mm rifles in general, especially South American Mausers and FN-49s.
>>
>>29449886
Anon, because 54r is still in service, spam cans are still being made, as is boxed steel cases stuff like Monarch and Tulammo.
It's still cheaper than 7.5x55, and always will be.
The nugget has a slicker/smoother action and cheaper ammo, and appears to be cheaper right off the bat with a base price of about twenty bucks less than the K-11.

Get the nugget if it's surplus you want.
>>
>>29450216
That sucks. I really liked the finish and the rifle overall.

>>29450265
If felt to me like the K11s action was way better.
>>
>>29450070
That a valmet in the middle?
>>
>>29450306
I couldn't tell you, I was too busy having lovely relations with the AUG to notice that. If it was I'm killing myself.
>>
>>29450368
Damn that is a valment....wonder how much is costs. I would drive straight there if it was like 1k though looking at other prices on the pics, wouldn't seem like it.
>>
>>29450050

>surplus

>will never dry up

>surplus

>not running out

>of surplus ammo made in the 80's or earlier

>never running out of combloc ammo that isnt being made anymore

there will always be x54r but there will not always be 30cpr or cheaper x54r
>>
>>29449930
>>29449964
moist nugget an K31 at the same price

What the actual banging fuck?
>>
>>29449930
The M44 won't be as nice of a shooter, so I'd go with the K31. I reload anything that's over 40cpr though, so it makes little difference to me whether I choose 54R or 7.5 swiss.
If you don't plan to reload and don't want to pay PPU 75cpr for 7.5 swiss get the nugget. If you don't care abut that then get the k31. If you are made out of money get the MG.
If you are just going to put things in your ass get something with a bent bolt for prostate massage

The Russians will still be making new 7.62x54r by the barrel for RPKs for decades. Some of that will become milsurp.

Looks like Grandpa/Papa Nambus, given the ridiculous pricing they are probably over ten grand
>>
>>29452890

debateable.

>will they export it

>will the US allow imports of it

>will it be economically feasible for ammo distributors import it legally

>will the pice be worth buying over new production

>will there still be a big enough demand by the time that happens

if russia wanted to sell us brass x54, where is it now?

even shitty wolf and tula is starting to climb in price too

Styer is also overpriced. It is common knowledge that Collectors Firearms guns are all overpriced. you go to look, not buy.
>>
>>29450265
>nugget has a slicker action
Anon, my nugget's action is smooth as silk but my K31 is superior, hands down.

You're right otherwise, though.
