It's not that detailed but it works well enough for the 50 people every thread that ask what they should get for their first AK. I don't know about the Europe part but an anon from Euroland wrote that so I'll assume he knew what he was talking about.
>>
>>28230314
Arsenal is not high tier, shitty finish, inconsistent build quality, and awful customer service is shit. DDI is better than them.

If you want highest tier, Rifle Dynamics or Krebs Custom. You also leave out a shit ton of good options too.
>>
>>28230376
That list is major manufacturers. Rifle Dynamics and Krebs Custom are pretty fucking obscure and only do what is basically custom work. That's certainly not what people are looking for when they want to get a first AK. DDI is a great company but they're still too new to place them immediately at the top in my opinion.

While their finish isn't great, Arsenal is still top tier as far as widely available AKs go. You also won't get AK-100 series clones anywhere else. Any manufacturer has lemons, but I haven't seen anything to indicate that Arsenal has had specifically more issues than they have in the past. Care to show where you're seeing that?

The only thing arsenal has over any other ak is tards who go "IDS COMMIE MADE IDS DA BEST, NO WAY NO HOW SOME RUSSIAN SUPER AK BUILDER COULD DO ANYTHING WRONG) and the fact they have sbrs and left side folding models(with the fact that manufactures are realizeing this means they are going to start makeing there own sidefolding trunnions and ak100 FSGB (DDI said they were going to make a copy of that on the akfiles)).

What do you guys think about it? Should i get it over a regular 5.45 saiga considering 5.45 and 9mm rounds cost the same in my country?
>>
>>28236834
The only reason I really want one of those so bad is because I can't have one in the states.
I think the actual 545 rifle is going to be better overall. Rifle rounds are a lot more fun IMO.
>>
>>28236834

>>
>>28236905
Yeah.. that sounds like a pain in the ass.
9mm will drop like a brick compared to 545 at the range, but you can adjust your sights according to what range you're shooting at anyway, within reason.

Same. I've been looking for a good 7.62 AK and everything is pointing to DDI over Arsenal, even for $250 less. Only catch is wanting to wait just to see what more cool shit they come out with.

In MAC's factory tour he said they'd be making a 5.45 rifle soon. And now we have them. He also said he wanted to switch to 90 degree gas blocks. Kinda wanna see if those pop up soon.

IMO Yugo underfolders are the best ones.

Tighter lockup, straighter angle out from the receiver.
>>
>>28239165

Manages to chew up barrels AND be underpowered.

Seriously, load a mag with Tula and any other 7.62. You'll feel the difference even with Wolf.
>>
>>28239298

>>
>>28239312
Pretty much everything I've ever read is about .223 Tula wearing down barrels faster than even other steel-cased, bimetal rounds.

But I've felt the difference between Tula and other 7.62, and you can definitely smell the difference in the powder burn too.

I know, anecdotal and non-AK barrels, but the combination of my own experience and those AR tests make me avoid the stuff.

I love it when simps reply before reading the whole post.

I acknowledge that the tests I've seen are for .223 out of ARs, but to me, combined with my personal experience comparing Tula to other 7.62x39, indicates a serious difference in manufacturing standards compared to other ammo factories. Enough so that I avoid that shit whenever possible.
>>
>>28240030
Why would you bring up .223 in an AK thread?
Why would you bring up TulAmmo out of AR barrels in an AK thread?
>>
>>28240005
I've never had to sign for ammo I had delivered.
>>
>>28240066
Because the test in question tested steel-case Brown Bear, Wolf, and Tula.

You think they make that shit at a different fucking factory or some shit? You think there's NOTHING of value to be extrapolated from comparing rounds from those same factories, using the same case and bullet compositions in a different caliber?

You retarded, son? Tula is objectively the shittiest AK food you can buy. And you can immediately see, hear, and feel the difference between Tula and any other brand's rounds. More duds, lower power, shit accuracy.

It's fucking garbage and it's not even much cheaper.

Treat your gun right, son.
>>
>>28240099
I just have it come to work, I'm always there at the times UPS delivers.
>>
>>28240119
Honestly after shooting thousands of rounds of the stuff, it's surprisingly reliable. Only had one failure to ignite with it ever (with the tulammo .223).

It's definitely a weaker x39 load, at least compared to Golden Tiger, Brown Bear, or Yugo surplus. And accuracy is shit, but still enough to ping an 18" plate at 400yds.
>>
>>28240287
Really? I bought one of those Cabela's ammo cans with 500 rounds in it, and probably had 10 or 15 problem rounds for various reasons, failure to ignite, the round firing a second or so after pulling the trigger, some loads noticeably weak but not quite squib weak.

Tula a shit.

So I haven't been through /akg/ in a while.

About 6 months ago I blew a lot of cash setting up for an AK74 build and here's what's left of it.

I dropped the barrel off to be precision drilled for my gas port and wound up having some hiccups as the job got passed around between different people at the shop.

Then the smith working on it up and quit and threw a wrench in the whole plan.

Back and forth over a few months finally came up to today when I was able to talk with the owner and his best smith on hand for how to go about the project.
>>
File: image.jpg (51 KB, 854x480) Image search: [Google]
image.jpg
51 KB, 854x480
>>28243624
So after some talking and figuring out that the smith that had it before fucked up my barrel and the gas block, and pressed most of the barrel together without even touching the receiver, the owner asked what I wanted to do.

Since 74 mags are a bitch and a half to get in MA, and 5.45x39 is only available in 25 count boxes by Hornady at Cabela's for shitloads more than I'm willing to pay... I said I was gonna wind up asking to trade or sell the AK74 after I was done with the build. I said I was interested in AK47s instead and he offered me any one I wanted at cost+$25 transfer fee. He gave me my kit back and didn't charge me a dime for any work that was done and apologized that his smith fucked my project up.

So I'm getting dealer buy price on a brand new AK when I feel like it. Considering the RAS47 because looks pretty good and feels solid.

Any other recommendations to look into if I can get it cheap at dealer price?

Then you've got enough to spare one bullet IMO, preferably without destroying it so you can display it.
I wouldn't bug you so hard, but I can't find any google images to see what it's packing.
Since it's 122gr, I'm already suspecting that it's a shorter bullet without a boat tail though.

>>
>>28248507
That makes it really tough then.
I clamp the rim, then use an old towel wrapped like 4x thick around the bullet. Then I use a vice grip to pull it out since I can control the compression and wiggle it out. It's too easy to literally misshape the bullet with anything else.
>>28248521
If you read up on golden tiger, like pictured a few posts up, it's got a massive air space in the front of it's ~1in bullet. And it yaws like crazy upon impact with anything.

Pretty good for a first rifle, cheap ammo, folding stock that's full size, Bulgarian made, easy maintenance. All and all it's pretty good choice, just a bit pricey for an AK.

Hey guys, I am looking to buy an AK, some guy just offered me a Yugo-AK and told me to check it out at his store and didn't give me any info on it.

What should I look for, what should I be weary of etc. IT is single stack ( I live in a fag state that requires them to be single stacked, but I plan on making it double stacked when I live in a freestate). He also said it costs $650

Or should I just buy a single-stacked Arsenal?
What would you guys recommend, I would be throwing the money down on an arsenal but I want to make sure i can convert it to doublestack later on when I'm in a freestate
>>
>>28253956
What state restricts magazines to single stack? Im fairly confident that most US states only restrict capacity. Double check that

Most AKs come into the states as able to accept double stacked magazines, as there is a physical difference in the receiver.

Arsenals are good quality, depending on who you ask. some say they have quality control issues. DDI is a new up-and-coming brand that give you amazing rifles for less than arsenal, however you might have a hard time finding one.

also check these guys out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZ6uyIo3gwM
>>
>>28254062
Well I live in Massachusetts and only have a FID, I can only get guns who were not made to accept more than 10 rounds. So I think I'm limited to sks/singlestacks aks/ mini 14s/ garands etc.
>>
>>28254081
They make 10 round double stacked AK magazines if you werent aware.

>>28254081
Get a Vepr. Russian made sweetness with single stack magazine for your fascist state.

Seriously though, I'm actually thinking of getting one in 7.62x54 to compliment my shitty Wasr, I've seen someone take elk with one.
>>
>>28254081
it also looks like your state has those bullshit "points system" for what constiutes as an assault weapon, so the arsenal with its folding stock, muzzle device thread and other features might prevent you from getting it. Atlantic Firearms sells a ban state legal AK, might be worth checking with your FFL on what is allowed and not allwed. Chances are they are gonna know more than people online. I live in PA and they dont give a fuck what I buy, im just helping by looking on wikipedia and doing some high level google searching that I picked up from working in IT for years.
>>
>>28254123
I can't get that without my LTC @ age 21,
for FID I can only get guns that were made to only accept a max 10 rounds unfortunately.
