Getting my concealed carry soon and was looking for some recommendations. I've always thought Tokarevs were neato but haven't really decided yet. Thoughts?

FN Model 1903.
this is like a 10/10 on the 'neato' scale.

if you're planning to shoot 7.62x25 I hope you have lots of $ or don't plan to practice with that.

The safety on a Tokarev or M70 is unreliable, it's really just not safe to carry one. Not in condition 1 at least. If you want to carry safety off with the chamber empty that would be perfectly safe, but who wants to do that?
>>
>>29352635
Probably one of the most popular guns for cc'ing. I just got mine and a comptac mtac is in the mail to me soon.
>>
>>29352684
Money's not really an issue, but cheaper is always better I guess. Was also considering a Sig P226 but always been kind of a Ruskiboo so a TT-33 always seemed awesome.
>>
>>29352667
Looks badass. How much would one in decent condition cost though?
>>
>>29352684
Don't be a cunt, that shit's not expensive.

Bersa BP9cc.

>~$360 online
>super slim and light, but has a long enough grip for you to get all 4 fingers on
>basically the single-stack 9mm that everyone's been waiting for Glock to make
>Can fire any 9mm para ammo
>super reliable
>8+1 capacity
>Amazing trigger, especially for a compact gun
>oversized front sight makes aiming under stress really easy
>Uses Glock rear sights and SIG front sights so there's a lot of selection

Source? I've always heard this but no one has bothered to explain why.
>>
>>29352488
Gun is insanely fun, and ammo isn't bad (31/rd last time I got some). A breeze to strip and clean too. Much as I love it, I wouldn't really advise it for CC-The import safety is notoriously shit (most people remove it), and the half-cock safety failed on me due to a piece of the hammer assembly randomly breaking.

It's not super common, I'm the only person I've ever heard of having it happen, but still, wouldn't recommend it unless you Israeli Carry, in which case whatever.

In the same boat, getting my CC soon. Don't know a lot about different kinds of funz but I like pic related because it's cute. Any other recommendations for something small, cute, and comfortably wearable in thigh and bra holsters?

Something about a positive firing pin and the safety (hilariously) being a half cock, meaning it can get snagged and go to rock and roll mode really easily.

They're made in several different frame/slide colors. I've got one like this, with the stainless slide and black frame.
>>
>>29353404
You know they make a free floating firing pin for tokarevs that remedies this solution right?
>>

This issue*
>>
>>29353437
Shit, really? I've only seen bubba's homemade versions of them, and I don't trust myself enough to make one with my nonexistent machining skills. Where can you get them?
>>
>>29352635

Glock sets the standard for carry pistols for a reason. they're very good. I carry a Glock 19 when I walk the dog, I like it a lot. I bought it as a 'do everything' pistol and if I just bought a pistol for carry I would consider a Glock 26 or Glock 43.
>>
>>29353398

I fired a bobcat once, I love those pistols. I would consider them fine for carry since I'm more concerned about coyotes than tweakers. For potentially shooting human beings you might find yourself undergunned depending on what sort of drugs that human being is on at the time.
>>
>>29353530

Also I never fired the .32 ACP version, just the .25 ACP version, which I would not carry because it's .25 ACP. However, I've never fired a 3032, though I'd like to..
>>
>>29352784

7.62x25 is only 30 cents per round. I have no idea what the other guy is talking about. Biggest problem is finding it for sale. Availability is spotty and determined by imports. You'll have a ton of ammo suddenly available and then there won't be any.

>>29353394
The guns aren't drop safe and the safety's can be unreliable. If you end up carrying one do not have a round in the chamber.

>>29352488
Tokarevs are really fun to shoot. There's a big fire ball, just the right amount of recoil, and are fairly comfortable in the hand. Ammo is usually really hot, average projectile speed is 1300 fps. Romanians should be readily available. Polish are better finished and have a half inch longer barrel but are more difficult to find
>>
>>29355737

I would recommend a S&W snub nose(three inch barrel works great as well) say model 36,37,38,49, all five shoot j frame .38's. Model 10 snubnose not much bigger and holds six shots.

Also a 2.5 inch model 19 or stainless 66 or 686 are amazing and .357 magnum.

OP, get an M88a. It's a 3.5 in barrel Tok.

>9mm 8 round single stack
>all metal construction
>safety + hammer block
>finger rest
>slim as fuck
>under $250 new

Everyone who has gotten to try it likes it.
>>
>>29355823
I mean, I've got a snubbie for summer carry, but they're not for beginners. Nobody who's new to guns is going to train with a pocket revolver, the recoil is punishing and it's not immediately rewarding in terms of improvement.
>>
Bought a glock 30s.
>.45
>10+1

Bretty gud desu. Although I'm a pretty big guy 4u
>>
>>29355945
What revolver you carry?
>>
>>29355985
Ruger LCR in .327 Federal Magnum. Though I've been drooling over a Chiappa Rhino snubby in .357.

Don't carry it very often: my Bersa is my go-to gun, the revolver is for deep carry.

>>
>>29356041
That's close too the set up I want, getting a smith model 49 and CDS, and wanna buy a good .380 or Makarov. Thinking a Constable or Betetta 70s for the .380, either be gotten for 300-400 bucks.
>>
>>29352488
I bet that Tok is comfy as fuck.
>>
>>29357930
.380 is pointless. It's more expensive than 9mm, generally less powerful, and .380 guns often have more recoil because straight blowback.

It had a purpose back in the day, but now we have compact 9mms with more punch and less recoil for the same price.
>>
>>29358046
Is the same thing true for makarovs?
>>
>>29358156
The problem with Makarovs is that there isn't a lot of modern defensive ammunition made for them, if at all, and they're generally heavier, bulkier and weaker than modern carry guns. I'd take a Mak over a .380, but I'd still rather have a polymer 9mm.
>>
>>29358283
If I was gonna get a compact 9mm, which is better, compact Jericho or compact CZ75?
>>
>>29358491
Honestly they're about equal, it's essentially the same gun. But I wouldn't advise either as they're both steel frames, which kinda defeats the whole purpose of a compact, lightweight EDC gun. S&W Shield, Bersa BP9cc, Walther PPS M2, all are better choices.
>>
>>29358046
But it's slimmer!

Not OP
but similarly getting into CC finally (Chicagofag) and was going to take a look at the P238 9m, anyone have one or have an opinion on it?

I shot the LCP and wasn't a fan, sure the size was nice but I don't mind the dimensions of a thicker gun.

Reviews and guy behind the counter all give thumbs up besides the slightly higher price.
>>
>>29352488
As someone who carries a Tok every day, I'd only recommend it if you REALLY like the gun. The Tok is a good pistol, but not the best carry pistol. It's a little big for the capacity you get, not technically drop-safe, the sights are kinda bad, and it lacks a proper safety, though Zastavas fix that part.

On a side note, whatever happened to that Anon making floor plates for Tok mags that give you one more round? 10+1 in a Zastava would be perfectly fine for carry.
>>
>>29359978
do you carry round chambered hammer down or do you carry with an empty chamber? I get that its not drop safe but if its in a holster and your not retarded why not carry round chambered?
>>
>>29359978
Also any advice for someone who is also thinking about carrying one?

If you have a malfunction with a DA revolver, all you have to do is pull the trigger again.

I don't see how that's bad for a beginner.

Yes
>>
>>29360406
It's a training issue. Small revolvers are not pleasant to shoot. Chances are the average person isn't going to put in the amount of a range time they need.
>>
>>29352684
