I can probably outlive 8 years of Hillary in relative comfort if I have to. IDK if things would change too much from obama to her anyway.
I shoot my pellet rifle and 12ga target loads a lot more than anything else anyway so I go through my real stash really slowly. It's not hard for me to keep slowly upping my numbers even during bad years.
762x39 ~3000 golden tiger
545x39 ~7400
762x54r ~3300
556x45 140rds
762x51 ~240
12ga 2300
20ga >250
8x57 ~800
32acp ~700
22lr ~1000 or less?
>how much do you think you should have stocked for your primary rifle?
SHTF is not going to happen, but you should have enough to survive ammo panics very comfortably without slowing down much on any of your main shooters.
>>
I have ample.
2 loaded mags of 5.56, 80 rounds in boxes

4 15 round loaded 9mm mags. 100 rounds in boxes

I buy my ammo when I go to the range and shoot it all
>>
I am dangerously low, I only buy enough for a range day since I dont have firearms of my own. But I have 1200 pieces of brass if I ever get into reloading.

>I just picked up my 7.62x39 casing that I forgot was the casing I keeping my shrapnel in and it went everywhere.

>>
>>29346614
7.62x25 Tok - A little over 1k
9mm - Ditto
7.62x39mm - over 2k
.30-06 - 200 rounds
.303 British - 40 rounds
5.56x45mm - about 700 rounds
12 Gauge - About 500 rounds of Buck, Slug, and Bird
20 Gauge- roughly 100 rounds of the same

I have about 2000 rounds of 22 lr and other stuff too like a shitload of 38 and 357 ammo for my revolvers.

I imagine Hillary will be great to invest in gun companies.
>>
>>29347513
Definately don't need 10000 rounds. Last week I went target shooting in the woods. Picked up 420 rounds of 5.56, shot it, camped out, left.

do you think the only reason to continue to shoot is to get better, and that once you git gud there is no reason to shoot anymore?

shooting is fun, brohan.

not even the point of my original post, if nothing more you should hoard in case of ammo shortages and to save money

ammo shortages are just manufactured through the manufacturer anon. I genuinely feel sorry for all the smucks who bought hiked up ammo during the " obama scare". Not that a few extra bucks would ever kill anyone but the free market failed in that respect with its skimming off the top. im well aware that there is nothing we can do but for recreational purposes its kinda dumb. Im sadly past the phase of shooting for fun though because there is only so many times i could hit a target area and not have it matter at the end of that day. I keep just enough ammo to get to hell and back
>>
Building a template for ammo inventory to help keep anons organized for the less technologically inclined among us or those who just dont know how to use excel

I've got an idea, lets just push all gun/ammo threads to the side and let /k/ get even more overrun with /v/ and /pol/ threads, all because of the unjustified paranoia of a few anons.
>>
The racism in this thread is fucking apalling.

~4,000 rounds .22 LR (bulk) for semiautos
~2,000 rounds .22 LR (CCI Std/Wolf) for CZ
~400 rounds x54R
~300 rounds .223 Rem
~300 rounds 9x19mm
~250 rounds .30 Carbine
~60 rounds .30-06
~10 rounds .35 Remington

This list ignores shotshell.

A primary rifle should have 500 (or ideally 1,000) rounds of buffer. You want to be able to absorb several modest range sessions in the event of a drought, and this is more pronounced if you shoot more rimfire than centerfire (which I do). For example, after Obama was elected the first time I had to make do with on-hand rimfire for several years because I just couldn't get it in my area.

I am currently way too spread out and need badly to focus on .223 Rem and 9mm. I almost have enough rimfire - another 2,000 rounds of halfway decent bulk and I'd feel a little better, and at 10,000 rounds total I'd feel relatively good and would just start replacing whatever I shot that day instead of building stock.

Realistically, things have got to get pretty bad before you can walk down the street with a rifle. I would up your 9mm stock and if you don't already, invest in a concealed weapon.
>>
5.45x39 - 4,400
7.62x39 - ~ 4k
7.62x54r - ~1,200 (I don't even own anything that shoots it anymore)
5.56/.223 - ~2k
9x19 - 750
9x18 - 1,200
I still feel like I am short.
>>
Im 26 still living at home, parents don't want ammo in the house, I have to buy my ammo at the range when I go shoot.
>>
>>29352386
Yeah you're right I think. Never know when 9mm might be banned
>>
1000 5.56
1500 .22lr

300 12ga
250 .38spl
250 9mm

75 .300 win mag
75 9x18 mak

Components up to my fucking eyeballs :[

Unless your parents clean your room for you -or- you don't hide shit well, this shouldn't even be a problem in the first place. Did you tell your parents about buying Playboy magazines?
>>

The only issues with ammo at home is if there's a safety issue, so that is understandable.

>9mm 408 rounds
Primary rifle is a Cx4, shares magazine with a beretta 92. Enough to fill all of my magazines twice, and do the same for my pt11 g2.

In reality anything less than 500 rounds makes me unhappy.
>7.62x39 120

Enough to fill a chest rig with SKS clips,. load the rifle, and have ten loos rounds for top offs. Doesn't really matter, if the world goes to hell, it's either going with a family member or staying in the safe.

>12 gauge 10 slugs
I have 50 or so. I don't shoot it and will carry the SKS or Cx4 if I'm worried about bears, not the mossberg.

I'll probbalyu buy a few undred rounds of 9mm this weekend in anticipation of panics.

I'm not worried about SHTF, my primary and secondary use common ammo and magazines.
>>
>>29352464
Does the CX4 accept Mecgar 92 mags?
>>
>>29351836
they only own a shotgun and handgun each. i let them go full ham on my ar's, ak, and g3 because they wanted a rifle but didnt know what. its fine because i burned a good bit myself teaching them to bumpfire.
>>
>>29352420
And if you're talking SHTF, you are most likely never going to find yourself fighting off hoards of bandits with your AR. Getting jumped at the local black market while looking for anti-biotics during an economic depression, on the other hand, is plausible.

I have right around 1.6 tons US,
probably 65% rifle rounds and all of it common to the weapons we own across this board
>>
>>29346614
Too less, OP, always too less.

I haven't count whats actual in the drawers. Maybe some
4k - 9mm
0.5k - .38 (mostly handloaded)
1k - .22
0.3k - 12ga
0.1k - .357

But I can give you a list of my ammo need for the next two months.
April weekends:
1. 200 (9mm), 250 (.38)
2. 60 (9mm), 130 (.38)
3. 200 (9mm), 300 (.38)
4. 290 (9mm), 350 (.38)

May weekends:
1. 130 (9mm), 130 (.38), 150 (.22), 40 (12ga)
2. 200 (9mm), 400 (.38)
3. 200 (9mm), 200 (.38)

This is just for the next competitions. For some training make it 1.5 times. And then double it, because the wife is doing the same.

>no need for 10000 rounds off ammunition
Right. 9690 will do for two months.

You might be thinking later than 2010, it was 120/tin that year.
It jumped up shortly after though and kept climbing fast. Either you got into 545 while the getting was good, or you may as well have gotten the regular commercial ammo and forgone the corrosive cleaning IMO.
545 surplus wasn't very cheap for at least a year or two before it was banned. It was a bit cheaper, but not worth it imo since it was corrosive.

How fucking old are you dude? I'm in my mid 20's and have been using internet porn since I found my penis.

5.56 and 9mm are all I shoot. That said I have enough of each to load all my magazines several times over, and I have a lot of magazines.

You guys always have 2000 rnds of birdshot but you dont hunt and you only have 10 rnds of buck why?

Also where the fucks your 357 ammo /k/?
>>
You precision shooters that dont reload how much match ammo do you have around? Highest amount ive seen on my usual go tos sell precision ammo usually in 200 or 500 rounds bulk.

I think I'm just going to get 500 .308 and call it a day until the next panic.

I rather concentrate more on pistol ammo and just add on to my pretty decent stock of 556

I always pick up a couple boxes of buckshot every time I'm the local Meijer. They have that Olin military 00 buck so I always pick a couple up.

I also got 175 rounds of 00 buck in a .50 can for $50 from PSA. Smashing my head for not getting 4 cans.
>>
>>29346614
Enough. I have enough FBI.
>>
>>29355202
I did the pick up a thing everytime i visit with glock mags. should have diversified by caliber but i now have enough glock mags forever for 9mm.

For ammo at the range I usually buy ammo for the trip shoot half and take the rest home. It adds up over time and doesn't hurt my wallet like bulk buying during a oh shit panic.

100 7.62 x 54R
100 8mm Mauser
100 .30-06
3,000 .22lr
500 9mm

I need to get more 5.56 and 12 gauge ammo.

>>29355283
whats your sd/hd ammo choice for 9mm? what grain etc etc.

I can only get 124g locally. I guess my area doesn't care for the super secret 147+p hsts.

always 124g gd

What types of ammo do you all stock? FMJ? Hollowpoints? Soft points?

Military surplus shit or civilian hunting and self defense ammo?

The ball/FMJ shit is cheap and can be bought in bulk... but shit ever goes down, wouldn't you rather have better ammo?

I'm driving myself nuts here. What do you all stock?

>You stocked up at an estate sale a few years ago, right?
At the worst auction I've ever been to. I got 1,134 rounds of surplus Turk 8x57 —and 1 round of GP11 7.5x55mm— on chargers, in 17 1/2 full bandoleers, in a bucket for $144. $9 per bandoleer, and bubba wasn't interested, or perhaps even able, in counting beyond 16. Some of the bandoleers had $50 price tags on them from the crooked former owner trying to sell them at gun shows. At least it made up for spending 7 hours in a mosquito-infested swamp waiting for them to get around to selling the ammo.

I could have also bought the King of Belgium's hunting rifle (a sporterized Colombian-contract FN Model 1930), complete with authenticity papers. That was a real good laugh.

Most of the rest is Yugoslavian M49 ball I got from SOG before the 2012 Habbedig.

>Military surplus shit or civilian hunting and self defense ammo?
I have a small quantity of softpoints and vmax around for a few of my guns just in case I take it hunting at some point, but primarily steel case fmj since it's cheaper than hunting loads. I use more expensive brass case ammo in my nato shooters though, but I don't shoot those as much, especially not 556 as I view it as the most boring to shoot of the 5 main military calibers, and way too expensive for brass case 22 cal.
I don't even use pistols other than as a toy, so I've never bought a defensive load in my life.
>but shit ever goes down, wouldn't you rather have better ammo?
I'm not worried, fmj rifle ammo will kill someone dead or horribly maim them, and I'm well practiced at shooting hundreds of yards. In the home, I'd jump to a 12ga shotgun & buckshot anyway. I load up with #1 flite control that would keep all pellets in your chest even out to 40 yards at least.
