I'd throw 10 bucks at that. It's be worth it to throw something like that in my pile of crap.

I sell guns at a major retail store and my whole weekend was cringe.

I had an arab start asking about which scope is best for a FA Kalashnikov.

The greeter cleared and checked in a handgun, but he sent the customer up with it cocked with a round in the chamber and the trigger lock improperly installed.

Some hispanic guy kept showing me pictures of a Mac-11 and wanted to buy one.

Some guy wouldn't shut up and kept interrupting me to tell the customer I was working with that 20 gauge is insufficient for self defense.

Another customer told me that his Bond Arms Snake Slayer can blow someone's head clean off with birdshot.

A man got upset we don't have Cobra Firearms.

A black guy brought in a magazine with some rounds from a .380 Davis. He wanted me to help him find the right ammo but didn't believe it was .380 because the steel cased ammo in his magazine was so set back that the rounds were significantly shorter than a proper .380.

Old guys yelling at me because we don't have .25 for their Beretta Jetfires.

A black man with a PX4 storm with a TLR laser/light complained none of the IWB holsters are comfortable.

Another black man asking 3 different sales associates about the difference between an XD9 and a Kimber Pro Carry.

Not one person used the correct terminology to identify a magazine.

Everyone struggling to push down the slide stop to close the slide on a brand new gun with the empty magazine in. Then they look at me like the gun is broken because it's so stiff.

>Some guy wouldn't shut up and kept interrupting me to tell the customer I was working with that 20 gauge is insufficient for self defense.

Yeah that's pretty dumb
YOU should have told him that from the get go
>>
>>29328671

I have to admit, it took me a little while to realize putting in an empty mag makes the slide stop a lot stiffer

Sometimes I sell the youth model 870 20 gauges to older people who want a small bedside/closet shotgun and a gun for their grandkids to shoot when they visit. This was one of those times but some other customer was making it sound like 20 gauge buckshot was second to his slingshot in a defense situation.

>>29328701
The problem is that is after several attempts to pull back on the slide with a perplexed look because its not going forward.
>>
>>29328748
20 gauge buckshot is nearly impossible to find and they want solid gold for it

I would like to see you get shot in the chest with a 20 gauge slug and live
Im all for "Bigger is Better" but arguing that 20 gauge is insufficient for self defense is a fools errand
>>
>>29328774
nearly the same recoil, bigger loads, higher velocities, cheaper ammo, more available ammo

20 gauge is foolish
>>
>>29328767
We have it where I work and I can sell it by the case if I wish. Its priced fair.

>>29328774
A lot of people become skeptical but then I explain it in comparison to 9mm or .45 and it makes sense.
>>
>>29328556
Always.
>>
>>29328809
>We have it where I work and I can sell it by the case if I wish. Its priced fair.

Well if that's true then it's not an issue
But for most people it's foolish because the ammunition is unavailable
>>
>>29328843
Where is 20ga unavailable?
>>
>>29328804
To a shooter, yes. To grandma and grandpa who don't know shit about guns and just want a smaller size shotgun to keep by the bed it it is quite practical.
>>
>>29328849
defense loads senpai
desu I've never seen them
And I've been to A LOT of different gun stores
>>
>>29328748
I have a youth model 870 that I was given by my Dad when I was 15 that I keep by my bed for that exact reason, it's the perfect size for a home defense gun.

Unlike handgun ammo shotgun ammo doesn't need to be marketed as defensive to be suitable for defense.

>>29328883
Do I know you?
>>
>>29328932
birdshot is not suitable for HD

>>29328932
Depends.

Bass pro in Rancho? Maybe. If not then no.

Its not the best choice by any means but it will be effective. Some can even argue its a good choice when you have to worry about penetration through thin sheet rock walls.

>>29328954
Negative.
>>
>>29328976
birdshot will go through 4 layers of sheet rock easily

It's not exactly a sturdy object
>>
>>29328974
one of what?
>>
>>29328865
I can goto Walmart right now and get 20ga slugs and buck, 00 and #4.

Same with Gander Mtn or Cabelas.

Wax slugs if you're in that much of a bind.
>>
>>29329030
slugs would be foolish for HD

So then nope. But yeah dude even as a yellowbelt gun guy the level of cringe you guys have to deal with is staggering. I have to take the wait ticket and walk away from the counter everytime, if not end up having a rage fit.

>in there doing the paperwork for new AR purchase.
>Chinese FOB cocksuckers talking back and forth, the word "grock" repeated several times.
>get handed a glock 23 and proceeds to point it at every person in the area while laughed and jabbering with his friends and trying to make the slide move before dropping it on the counter
>clerk behind the counter brings out my rifle to show me the serial number and match it to paperwork and let me give it some cuddles.
>sets box on the counter in front of me and opens it, starts goin over the paperwork with me and displaying serial number match.
>this fuckin Chinese dude
>this motherfucker
>this rat prick son of a dog blowing whore
>babbles really excited in Chinese to his butt buddies and literally reaches over my shoulder to grab my AR out of the box.
>the sales clerk turns bright red and pulls the box, rifle and all off with the counter and joins me in a round of
What in the holy blue hell do you think you're doing?
>broken English response includes mangled "I rike" and "car of dewty".
>his buddy finally pulls him away when he realizes that everyone in the area is glaring daggers

The clerk looked at me and proceeded to wipe down the receiver and dust cover and apologize profusely.

Haven't had a problem with asians yet. Around here they tend to be respectful and do their homework before stepping up to the counter.

Its not a glamourous job and if you know anything about firearms as a hobby it can get to the point where on the worst days you are convinced that the liberals are right about guns.

The problem is that because its retail management has the attitude that the customer is always right. That business model is not compatible with firearms sales to uneducated, unreasonable customers.

Basically, if someone starts giving you shit and you dismiss them for being unsafe, high, etc they can complain and you will get in trouble.

One virtue of selling guns in at my location is that we get a lot of new carry permit holders. I usually pull everyone's permit before looking at a gun unless I know who they are or think their LE. Almost every single customer is a fudd hunter or someone who has just gotten their permit.
