I actually made it to a really big gunshop over the weekend, been years. The stars aligned for me and I was actually ready to drop some big bucks too. Kindof a disappointment to be honest though, whoever manages their inventory in anything other than their thousands of bland(to me) hunting rifles should be replaced if you ask me. I even found their ar-15 section sorely lacking. I feel like that's been a strong point of theirs in the past.
All that happened was I reinforced my hate for any ak with an underfolder on it. They feel and aim far worse than I even remember. Then I lost some interest in buying all the 308 /brg/ rifles I thought I'd wanted so badly up till now. I just don't like how most of them feel compared to my MAS, too big, heavy, and just uncomfortable to me. And I'm not dropping 3k on a 308 scar, even though they are the one 308 rifle that feels better to me than the MAS. I'm pretty sure the rest of the battle rifles would end up being primarily safe queens kindof like my sks did after getting the vz58. And the sks actually feels damn good to hold, unlike a lot of the 308 rifles I held.
So, on the fun side, I at least bought 100 tracers to play with and shot the MAS and tracers at some targets 400 yards away. The tracers really make a big smoke puff when they hit the steel, pretty cool looking.
Sitting in a tech school parking lot burning some time and a cigarette before I go in. I'm in the process of getting my GED so I can do something other than work customer service, I hate it. Never work a job where you deal with the public, /k/omrades, normies are retarded. It sucks that I have to go there when I'm done here.

Part of it is that a gun shop boasting over 3000 guns should probably have some higher end slr rifles etc when it comes to the ak world to start, and a lot of choices instead of 20 kinds of near identical 16in ar-15 and cheaper ak47s, and barely any other stuff falling into the assault/battle rifle world. They barely even had any surplus bolt actions, like literally under 5 on the long rack which made me wtf hard. They just totally neglected their milsurp & similar section to the 10th degree considering their shop size. Most of that stuff wasn't just missing, but the ones they did have looked used and abused bigtime.

I already have a carefully chosen rifle in every common caliber, so yes, I'm at the point where I'm picky, and feel justified in being picky at this point. I could not expand my collection by one gun at this point and be 100% happy with it.
That doesn't mean I won't buy most of those guns at some point for collection sake, because I will, but they just got knocked down a peg on the priority list. And I probably will be ordering them online instead of overpriced "new" listed guns with obvious primer sealant dust on their bolt faces and all sorts of scratches.

I'm not buying someone else's lemon.
