While I see what you're going for, even with all the laws and shit we live under, we can still think well beyond what animals can and that gives us the opportunity to actually question and even make changes (i.e. revolution, rebellion, etc) if it should arise. Not really something I'd see happening with pigs on a pig farm, unless they mutate and turn into Animal Farm.
You can't really blame people for wanting stability and security, it is a very base part of us. It's the balance that needs to be achieved in wanting safety and stability in life, but also not so much that it turns into slavery.
