Trident was a Roman Era gladiator weapon
It looks intimidating but is less effective than your average spear, aside from spearing fish that is
>>29264171
I supposed they used those medieval tridents on their medieval chariots when fighting the medieval Hyksos.
Their good at moving hay.

3 prongs = trident

>only people who cant control thier on lives try to control others spelling. stop projecting, kid

You're actually retarded it seems, we feel for your family
>>29264422
I've seen pitchforks with anything from two to five tines. Different number of tines, and with different spacing, were better for particular jobs. Generally, more tines = more compacted matter.
>>29264171
It is practical and effective, so effective it is forbidden to use in today in many countries.
I am talking about fishing of course, it was never a weapon. It was used by gladiators - one of them was a fisherman with a trident and a net and the second one was a "fish" - but it was only a bloody theatre.
>>29264721
Tridents have three tines; anything else isn't a trident.
>>29265787
Be good for giggin' frogs.
>>29264171
The only trident I know that was ever used in actual combat (outside gladiatorshit) are Azn ones. Particularly the Tiger Lance.
Aaand its not a military weapon, it was a law enforcement one. It's to pin down a man to a wall or the ground, and kill him with the spike if he becomes uncooperative.

Dude, use of the trident (to my understanding) was in the ancient times, and almost only in gladiatorial and ritual combat. It is not a very good weapon when compared to any other pole arm.
>3 tips
>all limited in depth by the length of the pointy parts
>front heavy
>wide, easy to block / deflect
compared to a normal spear
>one tip
>depth of penetration limited only by the depth of the thrust
>balanced
>nimble and fast
>arguably more difficult to block/deflect than a sword
