Is it ethical/humane to hunt with FMJ?
As long as you follow up with throwing your rifle at it bayonet first I don't see the problem.
Probably not that humane or ethical. Not like most people really care about that, though.
Are you capable of putting a bullet through the heart of whatever you are shooting at the distance you're shooting? Are you always shooting against a perfect backstop? Then by all means, do so.
But both of those things aren't guaranteed, so don't do it.

FMJ m193 and 7n6 fuck shit up with enough velocity, so it depends on the distance and location of the shot on the body.
I shoot down at does in the head at <30 yards. I'm pretty sure I could use just about any round I wanted.
Going for a broadside at an actual competent target might be different. Depends on the round.
