what is the best gun for under $300??
What do you want it to do?
>>29262846
shoot bullets reliably.
>>29262857
So a better question would have been: "What is the most reliable gun for under $300?"
>>29262842
get a surplus chinese rifle, at least it won't blow up in your face
save up $500 instead. you'll be happier
>>29262842
a shotgun
>>29262842
Long gun? Hand gun?
>>29262953
prefer handgun, but will take long gun if it is better made.
>>29262940
This
A mossberg flex 500 is ~$350.
>>29262967
>Better made
> >300
pick one
>>29262971
a pardner pump or hawk 982 is less than $200, which leaves room for ammo and goodies
>>29262967
Learn a few reputable brands, go to a pawn shops handgun counter and pick one out. You can find a moderately used older model for that much easy.
Beggars can't be choosers in this case, but any major brand will likely be fine.
>>29262842
Hi-Point for handgun; Maverick 88 new, possibly could get a used Mossman or Remington the same price point for the shotguns; Ruger 10/22 for rifle.
ive heard good things about canik 9mms.
maybe a police trade in glock
>>29262842
two hi points
>>29262967
Makarov
Walther PPX, police trade in m&p would be good handguns.
Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 for shotguns.
A Savage Axis in 308 can be had for right at 300 but I can't speak for their quality personally.
>>29263415
Also, a used Marlin 30-30 lever action is a great cheap rifle option.
Under 300 I'd say a used Remington 870.
>>29262842
2 mosins

Marlin lever rifles are getting more expensive every time I look at them. In November they were like 300 or 400, but in January I saw them up to 600, and this is for the 30-30 caliber. Wtf man
>>29264068
I picked one up for 350 dollars new last month
>>29262842
two used hipoints

Hipoint C9 for $130
>>29264105
it has a relatively substantial track record of issues, M&P series and Glocks dont.
Old Mausers and Mosin Nagants go for around $120-250. Really cheap, but worth every penny.
>>29264153
Gluck issues are masqueraded as "features".
>>29265194
Except the glock literally doesn't have issues. It's not the best pistol in the world, but it has no actual faults.
>>29263482
Glock .40 with purple paralyzing bullets. Rust optional
OP. Do yourself a favor and spend an extra $200 to get a decent gun

A Mossworth shotgun. Don't get the cheap Ramington
>>29267244
Fuck. Mine says Remchesterby
>>29263524
Weld them together like a gattling slambang with a pull chord like an old canon.
Get a makarov now while you still can. Everything else will wait.
Mosin fucking nagant but not that chinese version. its about 200 dolls
A Makarov for handguns, Mosin for full sized rifle or a 10/22 for a cheap small caliber semi-auto, and a Mossberg or Remington shotgun are going to be the cheapest in every category.
>>29267128

The only time a Mosin is the right answer to this type of question is when a Mosin costs $100 and the question is what is the best rifle for $100.
>>29270946
What the hell's wrong with the Chinese model?
>>29262842
Chinese Type 53
>$155
>goes bang when you pull the trigger
>folding bayonet for when shit really hits the fan
>cheap ammo
what more could you ask for?
>>29262967
Hi Point in any caliber $200-$250
Budsgunshop has a Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm for $350 though, with three mags. It's a lot more attractive than the Hi Points, but a Hi Point is reliable as hell
