I have had my film noir looking brown leather trenchcoat for almost 20 years and 11 countries. Used to look professional, but after two decades of use as an impromptu blanket/barbwire shield/umbrella/bellows/seat/deer blind, it looks like it was made out of boots.
Its only edgy faggots that think trenchcoat=some cheap fabric and buckled monstrosity.
I still do love that coat tho. The wife hates it because it smells like saltwater and cheap cigarettes, and because we keep finding sand in the pockets. But I will wear that beast on every travel I go on until it literally dissolves.

That was the ostensible purpose.
The ACTUAL purpose was that they knew the basement tapes would make the numerous red flags JeffCo and the school district had missed or swept under the rug even more obvious.
