Im a gun noob but have a question. If I steal a shotgun round from my friend and use it to kill myself, will he face any repercussions? He has a FOID card and bought everything legally. I already took a shotgun from my grandfather to use.
However this is all contingent on my doctors appointment friday. If I am terminal I want to go out on my own terms. I'm shooting myself in the chest so my parents can have an open casket.

You either shoot yourself in the head and risk butchering it (become a vegetable) and/or have a closed casket or you shoot yourself somewhere else and wait however long to bleed out while suffering.
