When has the nugget ever been semiauto?
>>
>>29126063
you could get one of those century FAL or G3 clones
get ready to get what you pay for though
>>
>>29126145
>he hasn't converted his nugget to semiauto!
>>
>>29126063
You could get proud rifle of Sergei Siminov it is in cheap poorfag calibre da?
Don't pay more than $400 for it
>>

>BR
>>
>>29126218
What else is it? It's not an assault rifle.... Literally the only thing that's kinda weird is it's an intermediate calibre

You didn't know? You can file down the firing pin and make it semi-automatic.

You need to step up nigga, why the fuck do you think we all like a heavy piece of shit 100 year old russian rifle? its because we all converted ours into poor-fag SVDs.
>>
>>29126239
Semiautomatic carbine. Literally in the name.

You'll probably have to chance it with a cheaper century build like a cetme.
This was 485 out the door, so I figure that's as poorfag as a battle rifle gets. I've yet to see a cheaper semi auto in 308/54r.
>>29126073
it's a sporter, not really a true battle rifle, but I guess it does similar things overall
>>
>>29126848
>not really a true battle rifle
Go ahead and post all of the criteria for a battle rifle.
>>
>>29126865
Historically, any rifle chambered in a battle rifle cartridge (30-06, .308, 7.62x54r, 8mm) This included bolt action rifles, select fire, and semi automatic. More recently it has shifted to a semiautomatic or select fire rifle in one of those calibers
>>
>>29126932
Which leads to the conclusion that...
>>
>>29126865
Well, a real battle rifle is/was issued as a military weapon at some point first of all, or at the very least was designed and marketed as being one.
Otherwise, the usual semi auto and a full size cartridge, blah blah blah.
The 308 vepr/saigas at least can accept reasonable capacity mags, making them FAR better contenders for mimicking one than the 54r models. Still, I'd never consider one a BR no matter how you dress it up.
>>
>>29126063
Poverty BR?

Beater Sarco parts kit $200
Barrel - $150
Stock/HG - $40
FAL reciever - $300

$690 + You wouldnt want to forget 922r compliance parts
>>
>>29126963
>I'd never consider one a BR no matter how you dress it up
Good thing it's not up to you.
>>
>>29126941
That an SKS is in an intermediate caliber and thus not a battle rifle by any antiquated or modern definition?
>>
>>29126982
That's... true, yes. But you're a few conversations back.
>>
>>29126979
>Good thing it's not up to you.
Right back at you.
>>
>>29126994
>>29126979

Good thing the term Battle Rifle is a grouping title, with dubious origins, and no real authority as to what qualifies, and what doesnt.
>>
>>29126848
What the heck is the rifle pictured here?
>>
>>29126989
Oh shit, you're right. I'd say a .308 saiga is definitely able to be called a br

But just saying, anywhere you look online regarding battle rifles won't have the slightest reference to vepr/saigas and other things like that, or like some american made stuff that looks 100% fudd, but fits since there are 10+rd mags made.
If anything, I'm being too lenient on the term by allowing non military specific rifles into my definition like those civie bullpup rifles that have been popping up lately, marketed specifically towards a battle rifle role.
>>29127058
Mas 49/56, I love how they look.
>>
>>29126240
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS IMAGE
>>
>>29127114
I would argue that being military specific is not a criteria. Being suitable for an infantryman, yes. Potentially splitting hairs. As some BRs will serve as good DMRs, this further muddies the waters.
>>
>>29127114
>fits every single point except military issue
>if Ukraine would get their shit together it'd have that too
>lolnope I, the king of the internet, will not allow it!
k
>>
>>29126972
Eh, its doable? In y2k prices totally but these days itd be a real shitty beater. For another c-note you can get into ptr and way better accuracy
>>
>>29126063

Palmetto State Armory PA10.
>>
>>29127210
>way better
FAL or PTR your going to get 2-3moa on average.
Better models of each will get to moa.

Back in 2002 it would have been $90 for the parts kit, $250 for the reciever, $75 for 922r compliance. And $4 mags
>>
>still giving even half a shit about 922r
You guys are funny.
>>
>>29127246
I think the only non US made part in my FAL build is going to be the gas block.
>>
>>29127114
>MAS 49/56
My dick. Not so cheap anymore though, at least going by the prices online.
>>
>>29127165
There will probably never be 100% consensus, but I've given much thought and been as fair as I possibly can be. Vepr/Saigas are pretty damn murky territory, since they "can" be made to fill the general role, but just aren't at their core.
>these opinions are my own and not representative of everyone on /k/
>>29127300
It's a 308 conversion, they were very hit and miss. I guess the first batch of them had MAJOR problems too. That's probably part of why it was cheaper.
>>
>>29127300
>Not so cheap anymore though
It's also a little disappointing that the legit side-rail scope setup alone costs way more than my gun did. At least I'm pretty sure it was something like 800 bucks or better.

Please elaborate on this semi auto nugget
>>
>>29127554
get your bolt bent first then we can talk
>>
>>29127239
You are right about the fal being min. of man. The ptr/G3 style is more accurate by design though. You do know its barrel is free floating dont you?
