Just bought an AR rifle for the first time in 10 years. Researched a lot and got a Troy CQB SPC A3. My budget was $1,000 and that had to include sights, mags, cleaning kit, and ammo. Bought a set of Magpul MBUS sights, 3 Magpul gen 2 mags with window, Otis 3 gun cleaning kit with, and 300 rds of American Eagle 5.56. Total for everything was $978.54. How'd I do?

Probably won't break on you, but you coulda spent your money better OP. Really nice entry AR's are S&W Gen 2 sporter and Ruger AR. Building is also cheap and fun, even if you've never done it before.

Troy is just fucking fine. the regular stock is fine, i dont prefer it due to aesthetic reasons but its not a bad choice. my upper came with a YHM rail and i googled it, turns out the only people shitting on it were a bunch of liars on arfcom saying they were out of spec and how you should have gotten a larue rail hehehehheheheheheh wed never use that in the sandbox molon labe heheheheh poofag

Overpaid by about $300. Could have built a better rifle for about $800 including sights and mags, but at least you got instant gratification.
For $1000 without an optic is a gyp job, that's for sure.
