Unissued Yugo SKS for 425 dollars or something else?

Pic unrelated
>>
>>28922201
Do you want an unissued Yugoslavia SKS?
>>
>>28922598
I just need a gun I want one.

I like the historical factor of some of these milsurp rifles and the like. I even found a k31 for 299 but ammo is harder to come by.

I don't know if the 420 for the SKS is a good deal though, aren't AKs pretty cheap?

Where are you? $420 isn't terrible. Other factors: how available is ammo? Can you shoot cheap steel cased shit at an outdoor range? Can you feed it?

I would probably buy it, but I'm biased because I like SKS rifles a lot. I learned to shoot with Yugo ones, and wish I owned one.

What else have you looked at? What will you be using it for?
>>
>>28922836
It's an SKS so I'm sure it will feed steel case.

The SKS would be an online buy, I'm not sure how much 7.62x39 my local gun stores have or if it's steel case.

I shoot on private property so no worries there.

I've been looking mostly at rifles chambered in .22lr and 7.62x39 and some .223. I will probably get a .22lr and another more serious rifle. As far as .22s I've looked at CZ 452s, 10/22 and M&P 15-22.

"Real" calibers I've checked out cheaper ARs (M&P sport, WASR 10, SKS, mosin etc.)

I'd skip the Sport line of ARs. You can build one of better quality if you're patient and willing to wait for deals.

My suggestion is to check the availability of ammo, then decide. It'd suck to buy a nice rifle and then never get to shoot it because ammo is a bitch to find.

That being said, I think an SKS for that price is probably the best bang for your buck. I like the 7.62x39 cartridge, the lines of the rifle, bayonets, and stripper clip action. That's a personal opinion, though.

Overall, buy it. They're fun, solid guns and can do a lot in the hands of a capable shooter.

>425 for an SKS

Nigga wut
>>
>>28922992
Already I see 7.62x39 (Tula shit mainly) for like 25 cents a round online, that's cheaper than .223 I think. I'll still probably shoot .22lr 99 percent of the time though.

Up to you then. It might be worth getting a .22 and plinking away while saving and thinking about larger calibers

>>28923018
Shit is becoming more common. I haven't seen any for under $450 in my town for two years
>>
>>28922201

I'd impregnate her butt.
>>
>>28923250
I just don't want to wait too long because these guns keep rising in price. Most mosins I see are fucking 3-400 dollars + now.

I already am having problems finding CZ 452s and deciding which .22lr I want.

Hopefully I can explain this well enough to not throw this thread off topic.

Hotpocket=moderator

This is G Hannelius

She used to be on a Nickelodeon show.

She was very frequently a cunny posters staple, if you don't know what cunny is I can't help you much. For the time being ill say it's an attractive cute young girl (generally sub 14 yo).

/tv/ mods hate any thread about actresses, and especially cunny. They will ban you for it.

Probably because the mods are asshurt hags desu

Anyway, that should cover it.

Pls no derail
>>
>>28922201
There's no reason not to.

My Yugo is basically unissued, bore is spotless and mirror-shiny, metal is nearly perfect, wood has only a few scratches.
It's really a great gun.

I did only pay tree fiddy for mine, but that was like 2012 or 2013 so of course prices are gonna be a little higher.

Overall it isn't a terrible deal, but for another hundred dollars you can get a low-tier AK.

I haven't read the thread yet so if all this has been posted, I'm sorry.
>>
>>28923574
to not derail your thread OP, I can't understand how anyone could bring themselves to spend $425 on a $200 nugget
>>
>>28923657
That's why I'm asking, I don't know much about SKS and their worth and what not and I'm trying to get a gun, ammo prices are a big consideration, because if you can't shoot the gun a lot why have it (aside from collecting)? It's why I'm going to definitely be getting a .22 first thing.
>>
>>28923657
>$200 nugget
Nigger what?

He said it's an unissued Yugo SKS, which typically range between $350 and $400
>>
>>28923657
425 for Sks not mosin
Reading comprehension man comon
>>
>>28922201
That's not a bad price for Yugo or a Russian, I wouldn't pay a cent over $300 for a Norinco Chinese import though.
>>
>>28923697
to put things in perspective...

i paid $350 for my AMD-65 AK-47
>>
>>28923764
I don't really want a norinco if I can help it, I've seen them but on this site they are over 300 and a shit condition one was 250. The Yugo seems better.

Real odd question here, the bayonet folded seems to protrude from the hand guard, can you cut yourself on it?
>>
>>28923781
How shitty of an ak is that though? Aren't Yugo SKS like the cream of the SKS crop?
>>
>>28923792
in my opinion, i think you should just buy an AK
>>
>>28923806
I replaced the trigger with a Tapco G2, but i've put like 2000 rounds through it

still goes bang

yes, i did get it used, seemed not very used though
>>
>>28923792
Just no

The sks bayonet isn't even edged. The point is the only part that's remotely sharp. It's made for stabbing, not slicing.
>>
I'm selling an SKS D for 450, no one wants to take it off my hands
>>
>>28923611
>but for another hundred dollars you can get a low-tier AK.

Not really. Even WASRs are $600+ now.
>>
>>28923806
>Aren't Yugo SKS like the cream of the SKS crop
That'd be the Russian ones or Romanian ones. I know East German ones exist as well, but are basically unicorns. The Yugos as far as I know all lack chrome lined barreled and add on useless features for launching rifle grenades.
>>
>>28923957
>lack chrome lined barrel

Oh shit, maybe I'll hold off then and look at some other options.
>>
>>28922720
I've got 3 bricks of GP11 and no longer have a k31. If you get one, I'll give a good deal on it or trade.
>>
>>28922201

Something else. I used to have a yugo, they're neat, but lose their appeal kinda quick (low-cap, heavy, not a very accurate caliber or design), and for that money I'd get a more accurate old milsurp or put it towards an AR or 5.45 AK.
>>
>>28924734
they are great guns, but kind of agree with this. i have one, its way too big/heavy for its low capacity, medium caliber cartridge. if it shot 308 or something similar, i would be more attracted to it. but when you consider an AK weighs like half of an sks, and had detachable 30 round mags, and is shorter/handier, it's just not worth it. if you want one primarily for the historical aspect, by all means, its an excellent example
>>
>>28924734
>>28925736
Ok if I get a 7.62x39 it will likely be an AK or the CZ 527
>>
>>28925787
the yugo sks is great, its very sturdy and rugged, reliable. but its like a full size battle rifle, shooting a medium size caliber, and out of a 10 round fixed mag. so take that for what its worth. an AK and a CZ527 are very different guns, what did you primarily want to do with your 7.62x39 rifle?

if historical value is more important to you, i would say get the SKS. they aren't being made anymore.

if you want something light for hunting, the CZ 527.

if you want something tactical, the AK
>>
something to remember too: 7.62x39 is not exactly a "match target shooting" round. and the rifles you get chambered in it are not really built for top accuracy at the range. if you want something to print clover leafs at 200 yards, this is the wrong caliber for that
>>
>>28925863
I'm going to just be having fun with the gun really. Right now I don't do hunting or anything. I guess I don't really know if I'll ever get more specific than that what I'll do with the guns.
>>
>>28925901
I know that's why I mentioned I was looking at .223 firing weapons too.

I just really want whatever I get to be affordable to shoot so I can actually do it.
>>
>>28922201

here you go, the SKS buying guide.
personally I think 425 for a yugo is overpriced. unissued is nice, but the lack of chromed barrel makes me on edge and why I didnt get one and shot for chinese

got a near pristine import sks for 350, thinking of selling it for the bites i've got for 400, but if >>28923250 is right then maybe hold onto it till I move to places where sks is more expensive.
>>
>>28922201

literally every single hunting rifle you can pick up off the shelf has a stainless, NON-CHROMED barrel.

Just buy the damn SKS, they're awesome. Picrelated, it's mine before the cleansing.
>>
>>28922903
Should add 5.45 to your list if you like cheap ammo
>>
>>28930567
Seems to be the same as 7.62x39?

I guess I need to find out if it's much more accurate ballistically and if it is worth going with over a larger cartridge at the same price.
>>
>>28930630
If all you're looking for is a range toy then it's all a matter of preference. Shoot both, then choose. 5.45 shoots flatter and goes further, but there's fewer options for ammo out there at the moment.

If you ever want to hunt medium-sized game or smaller, 7.62x39 SPs function more or less like good old 30-30.
>>
>>28924031
Not a big deal unless you're a Canuck and only want to shoot corrosive surplus. Especially if it's unissued.

Me personally, I'd save a little more and get an AK. I love my SKS, but I paid $250 for her a couple years ago.
>>
>>28930661
I'm leaning towards ak, especially if WASR has gotten their shit together.
>>
>>28924533
Are you for real? I'm getting a K31 soon and I would fucking love some GP11. How much?
