Thinking about buying Sig in pic. Sig is the only pistol brand I don't own one of.

It's the p229 stainless with wood grip. Seems like p229 fits my hand better than 226.

Is this a good pistol?
>>
>>28871715
yes it is a very good pistol. The P229 feels much better than the P226 to me as well. If you have the chance, and funds, hold the P229 Legion, the undercut trigger makes a difference and the trigger job feels fantastic.

Does the stainless model you're looking at have the short reset trigger?
>>
>>28871715
No it's a horrible pistol by a shitty company. Its heavy as fuck and a 9mm and it is extremely prone to jamming after every 100rds or so without a thorough cleaning.

The sights come loose as fuck with regular use, the grip panels will peel back with extensive shooting.

What else... Oh you cant use HP's in them without it jamming. If you get dirt or dust in the clip the gun could literally explode on you.

>Buy with confidence... if you want one OP
Yeah, confidence that you can't use Hollowpoints and that your sights will go flying off at the 200rd mark, Lol.

Also have fun with that Sig-thumb.
>>
>>28872460
except for the fact that I have thousands of rounds through my Sig, including hollow points with no issues.

what is a Sig thumb?
>>
>>28872487
>sig shilling

Sig thumb? You should know if you own one. Its when your slide comes flying off and can break your thumb, it happens when you shoot more than 100rds or so in one sitting without recharging the firearm.

>1,000's of rounds
Seriously doubt that, even Sig says their pistols are only good for 600rds at most before they disintegrate.
>>
>>28872427
Well the thing is I've been making a point to buy a pistol of every brand, so I can decide who's best for myself

I currently have 1 S&W
2 Glocks
1 FN
1 Ruger
1 Browning
1 Springfield

I'm going to skip the bad brands like Hipoint and Chiappa, so that just leaves a few more high end brands.

Would be nice to Cover Sig with this p229.

Speaking of Sig's, there's a police trade-in P220 here at my local shop for $550. Its got a bit of surface wear, but the internals and barrel are all in great condition (and has had a bit of polishing done to the feed ramp, presumably to facilitate chambering police hollowpoints).

That seem like a decent price? Damn near bought it on the spot, because I've been wanting a .45 to replace the shitshow that was the Citadel 1911 I bought way back when, but I've never shot one before.

If you want a .45 in da/sa, do it.

I'm not really big on .45's but if I had to get one, it would be a german p220 before some 1911 tbqh.

I really want a p239 but I'm worried it would be too big for me to conceal.

I should really try to find one to shoot.
>>
What are the differences between the different models? I have shot a P938 and P320. How do those compare to P229/226/250?
>>
>>28871715
Yes, it's fine, OP. Elites are good.

Check out the 229 Legion if you can.
>>
>>28873079
Bought a Legion recently (for improvements over regular model), found out about this "secret club" accidentally. So far, looks like the swag is a free "thermal case" (waiting till mine comes in the mail", free "Legion coin" (wtf is that?) and Legion branded holsters and accessories. I doubt it's really anything special other than having Legion insignia on them.
>>
>>28873131

That was my secondary choice but after test firing both at my local range I fell for the p250. The weight, the trigger pull, how it felt in my hand. Everything was right. Except for the lack of a safety. I think that will be my lingering concern going forward, regardless of the long trigger pull.
>>
>>28873206
The p938 is a micro 1911, the p320 is their new striker fired pistol that is bascially an improved p250 which is a pile of shit.

Everything you listed is great except for the p250, as mentioned before, is a pile of shit.

You really can't compare them because they're completely different guns for different purposes.
>>
>>28873206
938 = very tiny 9mm. Great for CCW.
229 = smaller 226
226 = great
250 = shitty retarded uncle of the 320
>>

>938 = very tiny 9mm. Great for CCW.
What he says. Awesome gun.
>>
>>28873249
What would you suggest for CCW?
>>
>>28872527
I would say that the P229 is a great representative for the Sig brand. Many Sigbro's will say the P220 is the most iconic, the P226 is the most famous but the P229 is a great choice, especially the way it feels in hand.
>>
>>28873192
It's totally concealable. That being said, I never carry it because the Shield is way lighter and has the same mag capacity.
>>
>>28873118
check the P225-A1 before you do m8, a bit bigger but a bit more gun as well.
>>
>>28872334
Mine has blown up and had all these problems multiple times, and that's because it's the meme anchor. I have to clean it every 50 rounds or the slide will explode and I'll have to buy a whole new one. Go with a quality gun like a Taurus or glock.

As other anons mentioned, the p938, p238 and p239.

The p238 being the .380 version of the p938. The p239 if you like the da/sa of the regular sig series.

Don't quote me on this because I've never shot any of them but many anons say they're actually enjoyable guns to actually shoot, which can't be said for other cc guns.

Theyre good guns , first 9mm I ever shot was a P226

the company just has a habit of releasing SOOPER DOOPER RARE EDISHUNS

>LOOK GUYS THIS ONE HAS AN ANCHOR ON IT LIKE DA NAVY SEALS, RIP IN PEACE CHRIS KYLE

>THIS ONE HAS A LAMBDA ON IT LIKE DA SPARTANS N STUFF

>THIS ONE IS TWO TONE N SHIT AND HAS AFTERMARKET SIGHT ON IT WITH A 200% MARKUP.

The base models are fine, and if one of the special editions with extra bells and whistles caters to your needs, go ahead and get it. Its just most of them aren't worth the price increase for little things you could do yourself.
>>
>>28872334
Yeah...you haven't ever owned one.

I have two 229's. Heavy? Yeah, they're heavier than most guns of the same size. Only an issue if you CC and even then, I don't even notice it.

Never had any jamming in my 9mm or my .40 cal regardless of bullet type.

The sights will never come loose. You need a special tool to even adjust them.

I've put tens of thousands of rounds through my older Sig. Grip panels are fine.

Die in a fire for calling a magazine a clip.

Actually, it's the other way around. P238 was first, and P938 is a "9mm P238" - that much is clear when you disassemble both of them on the same table.

If you notice any 16 round witness mags for sale, pick them up. Because no one wants them (usually) I got them on the cheap, both for $20 so $40.
As for the paracord, it's apparently an Israeli police thing, like the little keyring thing on the base of yours or the yellow stripes they put on their guns.
