Anyone else get a M1 Carbine from CMP yet?
I went to the CMP store and got this last Thursday.
Here's another pic, it's a service grade.

Because I'm just not interested I'm the m1 carbine.
But I did send off the paperwork for a cmp garand yesterday.
They had a bunch of Garands at the store, though no service grades.
I didn't, but my father did, and I inherited it from him.
It's nice, too, he got a National Match M1 with a carefully-spec'd barrel and glass bedding (but if it has DCM papers, I can't find them anywhere.)

Cool, back in the day CMP didn't pick out the good stuff to sell for a higher price, I know a guy who got a M1C with all accessories back in the early 80's for the standard price.

I think everyone who was there by 0500 got one, they only had 35 to sell at the store.
By the time they opened a 0800 there were probably over 100 folks in line. CMP counted off the first 35 and let them in first.
I sent a mail order. I fucked up and thought a regular envelope with a stamp would get it in.
They got 23 tubs of USPS Express mail on the first day the Carbine order window opened. RIP

Not that long. Head of the CMP stated at current rates, they will be gone by 2017, and they don't expect any more.

I went to Anniston. They had a porta john outside for us before they opened.
Some of these carbines were returns from overseas so there could be irregular numbers coming back from time to time, considering how many countries we gave them to.
The first guy got there a noon the day before.
Does the /k/ shooting group still exist for purchasing cmp guns? Anyone got the info? Looking to get a garand before they are gone.

Yes, Have a CCL or proof of military service, Check thecmp.org they list the acceptable proofs. You can even get commercial range to certify you shoot, the form's on the CMP site.

Wish they would keep us in the loop a little more. Shouldve just picked 1000 orders at random from the Monday mail pile and then sent out an SOL email to the not so lucky customers that they didn't get picked this time around instead of having up biting our nails for 3 weeks wondering if we made the cut.
I ordered a CMP Garand a couple weeks before they announced the carbines. They haven't even charged me yet. :/

Jesus Christ anon, if you expect that kind of customer service then you should expect to spend a shitload more. The CMP is a nonprofit organization and heavily understaffed.
