Funny you should start this thread now. I just got in the mail, less than an hour ago, a used PA Advanced Red Dot. It's scratched up externally and actually looks worse than the PA Red Dot that I already own.

I'm not even pissed at the idea of a used carrier, but they better cut me a 50% refund. I'm pissed that someone handled this item, saw it was not new, packaged it with scotch tape, and said "maybe he won't notice."
>>
>>28708565
Not normal at all for any company, let alone Primary Arms, which is typically excellent. I already called them and left a message to the effect that they need to call me back and arrange a return on their own initiative because they screwed up.

I don't know if it was just one doofus working the inventory department last week who thought that the customer-returned goods were g2g for new orders, but whatever the reason, they should not be sending out used products to people who ordered new products. You should call them tomorrow to complain.
>>
>>28708636
I already called and left an email. Of course I would get home at 5:15 when they close at 5. If I don't get an early morning call I'm gonna be kind of butthurt about it.
>>
I have ordered from them in the past and never had issue. I hope they take care of you two anons. Keep us posted. Customer service is what can kill a company quicker than a bad product.

>>
>>28708727
Not op, but that BCG has clearly seen a good couple more rounds than "brand new," just look at the lettering and the lengthwise striations.
>>
It's funny how we always get people like >>28708727 / >>28708765
coming out of the woodwork in any thread with negative connotations about any company ever. It's always the same kind of post. No matter whether people post photographic or video evidence, they just blatantly deny reality or else try to change definitions of words. It's the same kind of posting style as the people who try to derail a thread by calling people noguns/airshitter AFTER they post pictures of their guns.

I own two other PA red dots which I use regularly, and both are in better condition and cleaner than the one they just sent me. I don't mind buying used goods for certain things, but you can't charge new prices for used items.
>>
>>28708784
>the one they sent me is abused.
Where? There is no wear on it in your picture. Bulk packaging (aka bags) are what saves money so the retailer can offer it at a lower price.
>How retarded are you?
You're the one who ordered a Fail Zero BCG. Twice.
>>
>>28708817 again

Also, I'm not even saying this is a negative story about Primary Arms. I have bought from them many times before and they're always very good about shipping new items quickly. Depending on how they handle this fiasco, this could still turn out being a good story about them. However, they did screw up my order and apparently OP's order, and receiving a used item that hasn't even been checked to see if it has all the necessary wrenches is already a much lower level of service than I have ever received from any gun-related company before.
>>
>>28708817
>you can't charge new prices for used items.
You obviously don't know the difference between used and damaged. Damaged =/= Used

Are you actually blind? The BCG in the OP is filthy.

>>28708862
Not sure what you're trying to say here. You think that I received a new red dot that was just damaged on the assembly line? How do you explain the non-standard packaging, the rub marks on the bottom of the mount, and the fact that they erroneously sent two mounts but not enough of the required wrenches? See: >>28708540. This is not what the packaging should look like for this product. I know because I own two other PA red dots and still have the packaging for both of them.
>>
>>28708905
>The BCG in the OP is filthy.

There is no visible wear from use. It was likely purchased from the manufacturer in bulk, shipped in bulk packaging, and pulled from a warehouse to fill the order.
>>

I'm not the OP, so I can just go from the photo, but to me, I would describe the bolt in the picture as being "caked in soot", and the laser etching of the manufacturer's logo is showing heavy abrasion as compared to the other bcg he posted. This didn't happen from just firing a few test shots at the factory.

>they missed a wrench

FFL guy here.

We've gotten half a rifle on at least one occasion from Remington, LaRue, and Savage.

Seriously, open the factory-sealed box and there's just a barreled action in there. No bolt, no stock, no mag. Or in LaRue's case, just a lower+stock, no FCG and no upper.

Now obviously the distributor corrected the...error...in short order on the Remingtion and Savage, and LaRue eventually got around to sending out a complete rifle after insisting we pay shipping to return the half-a-rifle they sent us (it was a custom order), but everything got straightened out with minimal fuss.

No, but the majority of Americans pay full price for new vehicles missing things like bottle jack handles or owners' manuals. Which is a more accurate comparison to "hey it's missing a ten cent allen wrench of which the customer probably already has a dozen".
>>
>>28709075
Nope. The customer isn't always right. Most of the time it's their own fault because they don't read anything, or had unrealistic expectations.

First, it's not an allen wrench. It's a star wrench, and most people don't have many of those laying around the house, but that's not the point. The point is to use that as one of MULTIPLE pieces of evidence to suggest that the item is used and not new in box. It was obvious with your first post that you are irrational, but now you have become hysterical. Get help soon.
>>
>>28709128
If you're going to make a comparison at least make a fair one
>new car that doesn't have owners manual is the same thing as his optic doesn't have Allen key

No retard. 40,000 dollar car that's missing some paper =/= 100 dollar optic missing Allen key. A good comparison would be a new car that didn't come with an alternator or starter.

You're an idiot and you let companies cuck you around because you're a cuck. You bend over and let them fuck you because "well they tried their best". If I pay full price for a product I expect everything to be in the package when it gets here. I can't go to the company and say

>I'm going to buy this $100 optic, here's $90. It's not that big of a deal right?
>>
>>28709201
...that actually was my first post.

I think you think I'm someone else. I was trying to hit a middle ground between the guy claiming it was like a car missing fuel injectors, and the guy claiming it was 100% okay for them to do that. It's not OK, but it's also not willful fraud.

>40,000 car

Are you aware that in America you can get a factory-new car off the lot for around $12,000? And that comparing a roughly $20 owner's manual to a $12,000 car is pretty fucking comparable on price ratio to comparing a $0.10 allen/star/whatever wrench to a $160 optic?

But obviously you're hung up on your cuckold fetish and it's the only thing on your mind judging by how many times you brought it up in that post.

>>
>>28709232
>but it's also not willful fraud.
I wasn't going to use the F-word. Remember, I like Primary Arms and I order a lot of stuff from them. This is the first time they have screwed up one of my orders. To address what you are saying, though, there is a very clear and well-understood meaning for the term "brand new" in product sales, and when you sell customer returns or otherwise used goods which have been scratched up, are dirty and are missing parts, you're supposed to disclaim that. Otherwise, it's misrepresentation.

>>
>>28709534

bolts get MPI. that means they have to shoot proof rounds, aka rounds overfilled with powder. It doesnt mean its used if they tested it and just threw it in the 'pass' bin and never wiped it down.

>>
>>28709615
False dichotomy and exaggeration. I am well aware that guns and many gun parts are test-fired before leaving the factory. I have never seen a new gun or gun part that was as filthy as the bcg in this thread. You'd have to fire something like 500+ rounds at a time to get it that dirty, I would guess. I regularly clean my AR after range trips and I've shot 300 and 400 rounds in between cleanings (and that's a lot of cost of ammo to spend on test-firing a fucking bolt!), and my bcg never even gets that dirty.

what he refers to as "pitting" (from all that corrosive 5.56 people have been getting recently) is actually a casting flaw, because its a shit-tier bcg and probably cast. The laser etching probably didnt stick due to the "cris costa's cum-dipped" proprietary coating they put on it.
